So I was thinking that a little chat thread in here might be a good idea. Just a place to check in from time to time, share thoughts and just chat!

I found this quote the other day... 'As the dawn of another new year approaches, the time to decide what to bring with you and what to leave behind-is now'
What are you bringing with you?0 -
hello, no quotes from me today, just looking forward to 2013!! bringing to 2013? some common sense that i've incorporated from MFP0
-
Sounds good! I'm going to bring my dedication to my health... I amgoing to stay committed tomy journey of well being. The only thing I need to work on is drinking more water!0
-
Me too on a daily basis ~ it does the body good!0

We are on page 1 of a brand new book call "My life in 2013" :flowerforyou:
Let's make this a book to remember.0 -
i've always shyed away from writing...0

Hi ladies. I'm keeping on my plan..that's something. What's everyone up to?0
-
I like it Donna . I keep a health journal and it really pulls me back when I get off track. Some days, I just don't want to move but when I look at my journal, it makes me say 'get offa that butt'! It also helps me get some of the static out of my head.0

Another snowy day here... ugh, I need some invigorating sunshine!0
-
I hear you on the sunshine.... Been lucky around here the last few days -- temps haven't been too bad (for here) and (best part cuz it's not usually the case) the sun has been out...0
-
Where is 'here' Lisa? I'm in BC Canada and where I am, it starts snowing around mid November and doesn't stop til April! I typically don't mind because we usually have lots of sunny days as wellbut so far this year its been milder so more dreary snowy days =(0

Bringing to 2013 making myself a priority!! When I am healthy, my family thrives!!!!0
-
You got that right Molly!0
-
I have looked and looked...did I miss last week weigh in? I will admit that was ok with me as I had a gain..hey it was New Years. I am proud to say I dropped back down to pre-new years.
I am missing this week weigh in or am I early?0 -
ladies ? about weighing yourself, do you wait a few days to see the same weight on your scale before you post? I weighed my self this am and did not post it because I like to see that number a few more times to make sure its accurate0
-
I'm getting back on my plan. For some reason, the plan just disappeared. Good thing it reappeared!0
-
I like the idea of making myself a priority, it just never works out that way. I am feeling good that my skinny jeans don't feel skin tight today. ? about vitamins as I have taken my multiple vitamin today after eating and it still makes me feel like I want to puke. Anyone else experience this unpleasant feeling?0
-
I am for starting the weigh in later this...just to get rid of that last extra bite from New Years....not to mention trying to complete revise my eating as I am now a diabetic since my doctor informed me on Friday.0
-
@ herblu, I experienced this too from my vitamins. I tried at different times, with or without food... I just stopped taking them. I eat a pretty sensible diet with a variety of food so I just said screw it!!
@ hillery, welcome back to the plan
@ksmom, you can weigh yourself whenever you want and just add it in. The Friday thing came because that was the day I did mine and just threw it out there
@ grdnr, I typically don't weigh myself multiple days, I just see the number on that day and log it... sometimes, I don't like it and will look back at the days leading up to it and know to weigh again the following day!!0 -
Hi there,
I have been gone forever but rediscovered this site. Glad to be here and looking forward to getting to know you all.
I was just looking at my profile and I see that my starting weight last year was 159. I didn't realize I was that high. I am down to 151 now. Kinda happy about that today!

I'm stealing a quote from the premier of Biggest Loser but in 2013 I'm on a "Me Mission" As a wife, mother, volunteer and employee I have never made me a priority. Having been through some serious health issues in the last year and a half I have realized if I don't take care of me who will. I am ready for change and that means making a healthier lifestyle for me and my family!0
-
well welcome back Alecia!! and it must be a great feeling to know that you had an awesome year away!!
Love the Me Mission spring... go get it!!0 -
I signed up for my first half marathon!! Am I freak in crazy? Hell ya! . I don't see myself doing any more than that, I can't fathom the idea of running for 26 miles.
It's one of my goals but I didn't have a time frame for it but I certainly do now! Aug. 10, 2013!!0 -

YEP -- Crazy!!!!! ;-)
Did my first (and gonna be only) 1/2 marathon in September... Absolutely hated the training and the race about killed me.. My favorite distance is between 6 and 8 miles -- never going to go more than 9 miles (willingly) again...
I hope you have a much better experience!!!0 -
hey yall, happy Monday have an awsome week!0
-
well I am hoping the same lisa!!! =/ could you elaborate on why you hated it? or maybe even why you thought it was a good idea to begin with if you hated the training?
same to you grdnr!!0 -
I didn't hate all the training -- just when it got over 10 miles.. There is a good chance I would feel differently if I had more time to train (I did complete the 12 or 14 week training plan) but my racewalking (bad knees can't run) months are pretty limited (roads don't clear until mid April at earliest). I think I needed more of the longer walks -- I'm in decent shape (8 mile is enjoyable and relatively "easy" for me) but only have 2 or 3 longer walks really did nothing for my fitness level. Probably also a good chance that I would feel differently if I wasn't so hard on myself about getting a certain time.
The bottom line is -- I did it and even though I didn't get as fast of a time as I wanted I still did pretty darn good (especially considering I only started exercising one year before) and I'm proud of my accomplishment. I never could have did it 2 years ago -- and that says it all...0 -
I'm Robin. New to the group and 47. Goals are to get a move on and keep moving forward
I have also had an issue with vitamins. I've tried different times and depends on what I eat and if it is close to working out. I take my at lunch right after I eat and haven't had as many problems.
Love the quote about sweat being fat crying.0 -

I am just looking to finish it and check it off my list!
I do enoy running but may have a different attitude on it when its all done but I, like you, wouldn't have even have considered it a possibility 2 years ago either. I am starting to increase my distance now so I am doing it slowly over a few months as opposed to a few weeks. Much like this journey of health, slow and steady will finish the race!!0
