You must know some shallow people because the majority of people I know in relationships aren't most concerned with looks.
Most men I know seem to be concerned with looks primarily, other personality traits secondly.
That's a valid point. I guess I meant the girls weren't concerned with looks. Most of them, looks wise, have "settled" but the guys scored!0 -
Yes, men are visually stimulated and physical attraction is going to get their attention first. I do agree that we all need to be attracted to our significant others. But, to generalize all men and say that looks are the only thing that matter is ridiculous. I know many men that do have dealbreakers that don't include beauty (intelligence, religion, politics, manners, smoking, drinking, career minded, family oriented, etc).0

i have a single friend that just joined my church. she met a guy online back in january. they have casually dated but are more like friends with bennies at this point i think.... anyway, i had the "pleasure" of meeting him on monday night and in person he is NOT attractive to me AT ALL.
now she is quite beautiful in my opinion and i'm sure most men would agree with that. and he just isn't. needless to say she and i have very different taste in guys, LOL. in his online profiles he doesn't look that bad. some of the pics he looks cute. but in real life, NO THANKS! she's just gorgeous any time you see her!! :-)You know I have very, very rarely seen a couple where the male is significantly more attractive than the female. I find the opposite scenario to be MUCH more common. Funny enough though, with my friends who have met their partners online, they tend to be quite equal in the looks department.0 -

I think the whole settling notion is rather dumb. Like anyone is going to go online, meet a person and say "Damn she sure is ugly. It's too bad I paid $XX for a Y-month subscription. I don't want my money to go to waste so I guess I'll just date her anyway. Paper bags aren't that expensive. I wonder if she'll be upset if I ask her to cover her face with one at all times."0 -
