Endo vs. GP? Cleveland or Pittsburgh areas?

Anyone have any insight on whether I should seek an endo or stick with my GP? I'm newly diagnosed (3 weeks ago) and just started 50 mcg of levo. I have an extensive family history on both parents' side with hypothyroid and not sure what others experience has been. I like and trust my GP, but want to feel better!
If anyone has an endo that they want to recommend (or avoid!), I'm willing to travel to the Cleveland or Pittsburgh areas as I am in NW PA.

It depends on the treatment theory of each. I wouldn't necessarily assume the endo will be good with thyroids - they often focus on diabetes and don't keep up to speed on current thyroid management.
Does your GP test your free T3 and free T4? If not, I'd try an endo.
