Born without a Thyroid?

Hey just joined... was wondering if anyone else here was born without a thyroid like I was? I have had trouble managing my levels the past 8-10 years. Last time I got checked my TSH was 7.02 :O the highest it has ever been since I was born. Hoping new meds will bring me down to my normal... .5-1.5 range that I feel best at
I can work my *kitten* off tracking my food and exercise but hardly ever have success- unless I go on under 1000 cal a day and low carb diet I don't see any results. Anyone else have any tips or ideas for this situation? I am 5'6" 165lbs want to get to 140
Also- I can't take Levothyroxine it just doesn't work right so taking Synthroid .150 daily. Next blood check is in Feb so maybe get some more insight.

If you don't have a thyroid at all you would likely be much better off taking a natural thyroid med like Armour or Nature Thyroid. Your body has a more difficult time converting the T4 in Synthroid, and a thyroid would produce a certain amount of T3.
You likely don't have enough T3 and your body just can't make enough. Natural thyroid meds contain T3, and the T4 in them is easier for your body to convert.
Does your doctor just test TSH??? It's a terrible indicator of thyroid levels, since it's a pituitary gland hormone. They should be testing your free T3 and free T4 and basing your meds on that. I would get your free T3 tested right away, I bet you're pretty hypo. Remember that you want it in the top of the range, not just "within normal range".0
