I have had intermittant IBS flare ups since my teenage years (possibly related to endometriosis) I have reduced them alot by cutting out wheat in general.
However at Christmas I had the ghastly norovirus bug and have had really IBS since. My usual remedies are not helping (peppermint capsules, tea and heat) so I have been looking at dietary options and have happened on FODMAP, it would be hard to do esp as I am also vegetarian but would be very interested in peoples experiences.

If you go to http://www.hungryhungryhippie.com/ she has some great recipes for vegan and vegetarians. I was vegan until diagnosed with IC. I also have endo and IBS so... FUN! I just stared the low FODMAP diet and can't eat any soy products but I still don't love meat/animal protein so I rely on small amounts of almonds and peanuts throughout the day with rice cakes or banana (until I found out that banana's cause IC flares). It's difficult but it's only for a few weeks, on the elimination phase, and I try to think of the end goal- less pain and symptoms!0
