Hi All-

I was curious about how often I should really be consuming spinach, and I found this article! Pretty interesting! (...or at least, I thought it was!) haha

  • Very interesting- I wish they would say how much you have to consume to get those side effects- I am thinking 2 cups won't be harmful ;-) Good job doing research!
  • Julianna,

I do know that my dad was recently diagnosed with Gout. One of the top items that was on his list for non-consumption was spinach. Spinach is okay in small amounts, but my parents always thought that spinach was such an amazing addition to their meals, and he was eating too much for his gout. It was one of the things he had to cut back on. However, if you are eating a balanced diet, without any medical concerns, then it should balance out the side effects of the spinach. The other items on his list for items to not eat too much of were: mushrooms and asparagus. However, both good items for you. I just think that they main thing that the doctors want to see is a well balance diet instead of the same thing every day.... hope that helps a little :)
