Getting frustrated...

I have been low carbing (20g or less) since October 2012. I had great success up until about 3 weeks ago when I stopped losing weight. I have not gained either, but still no loss. Any tips on getting past this??

Typical Day:

Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs in butter and 1/2 avacado.

Lunch - 2 cups salad with chicken, eggs, bacon bits (real) , tomato and Kens ranch dressing.

Dinner - Hamburger with tomato, onions, mayo, cheese. 1 cup of some sort of low carb veggies.

Snack - Usually some pepperonis or cheese of some kind.

I am drinking at least 84oz of water a day as well.

I have had this MANY time. I'll lose lose lose, then stop stop stop. It's just your body catching up. Sometimes I take a "day off" from low carb. I don't go crazy, but I do eat carbs, and then right back on track. I put about 6lbs of water on, but lose it quickly. That seems to trick my body and I start losing again.
  • If I am going to have a higher carb day to "trick my body" would you suggest using fruit to do so? I have been craving fruit like crazy but have not had any yet :)
  • Most likely you need to carb backload (which is related to the fruit craving). The plateau happens because your body is low on leptin, very likely. This article should help.

Everyone is different but when I stop losing weight (and when I don't know why .... most of the time I know why I haven't lost)
I simply switch things up - get rid of that avacado and have some meat with your breakfast - switch up the veggies you've eaten, basically I change things up (one thing at at time so I know what did it!) That's me at least! Add in more veggies for a week and then cut back - add in some nuts and then take them out the following week, cut back on dairy every few days. Anyway - works for me.

^ this too Don't know why that tends to work sometimes - as long as it's not terrible.

I would lose weight too then stall for awhile but just keep doing what you are doing and the weight will continue to come off. I think Mark's Daily apple web site might have some articles on fasting which helps me start my weight loss.
