Ok, so I got a fitbit for Christmas. I have been wearing it every day for 16 days. I did the calculation and it shows my TDEE is 2291! I'm blown away! I still wasn't eating enough! I was trying to stay around 1800, but my 15% cut is 1946! :noway:

My question is, if I stay around 1800, is that gonna help or hurt me? Any help/advice is very much appreciated! :flowerforyou:

So that TDEE estimate is based on BMR as foundation. Harris BMR specifically.

So you can get a sense of how incorrect it might be if you have your Katch BMR.

I'm betting it's inflated for everything but the walking time where only weight is used. Which is what % of your day time-wise?

    Pretend it is accurate.

Depends on how stressed your body is by a bigger deficit. It may slow down enough to compensate, and that's something the FitBit won't know. So you may be getting smaller deficit.
Then again, body may have no problem with bigger deficit if not near goal weight now.

If you look at last 3 weeks of weight lost. We'll assume fat lost only. lbs x 3500 / 21 = deficit create daily
Look at last 3 weeks food eaten each day on avg.

Daily avg eaten + deficit showing in weight loss = real TDEE.
