Time off...lots of time off.

So I graduated c25k and ran my first race on the same day, October 27, 2012. I was very excited about running until the race was over. I still wanted to run but the drive to get up early and get out in the cold weather was no longer there, so I quit. Yesterday morning I decided to get out and go for a run just to see where I was at and confirm that I would indeed need to start the program all over again. I'm happy to report I was very wrong, in fact, I ran 1.5 miles in 21 minutes.
Have any of you had a similar situation?

I guess since most of you are currently in the program, you haven't taken lots of time off haha.0

I've taken lotsa time off on occasion.
Once I get back into a regular routine, I find that I get back to where I was fairly quickly.0 -
I call myself an inconsistent runner. Sometimes I can run 2 miles without feeling winded, sometimes I can run .25 miles and have to die. I started the C25K in hopes of changing that and getting some consistency. There is a local annual race that I signed up for in May (last year was my first year), it is 7.46 miles and I want to be able to run most of it. Last year I only gave myself 2 weeks to prepare and I had never run before. I ran 4 miles of it and have yet to be able to do it again.0

I have attempted the program off and on about 4 times now. This is by far the furthest I've come with it (W9D2 currently..). To say I have been inconsistent is an understatement But.. oddly enough this time feels different. My plan is to still run 3 times per week and increase my time gradually until I can actually hit a 5K. Then once I can do that for a few weeks, I'm going to start the B210K program. So I'm hoping that having a plan will keep me going!0

It's great that you've started up again!
I've started and stopped many times over the years. This is the first time I've used the C25K program and it seems to be sticking. Like geauxgirl, I will graduate this week and plan on continuing 3x a week to increase my speed and distance until I can run 5K. Then I plan to maintain that. I'm not sure yet whether I want to start the C210K yet. I'll play that by ear.0 -
I also completed c25k in mid-Oct last year. A few weeks later I ended up with a knee injury which meant I had to take about 5 weeks off from running. I then started some very gentle running on the treadmill together with strength training and exercises from my physio. Boxing day I did my first 5k run outside since injury and was half expecting to not complete it, surprised myself and completed it. New Year's day I did another 5k run and set a new personal best.0
