Hypothyroid meds and birth control pills

I've been on levothryroxine for about 8 years. I started taking it around the same time I started the pill (first Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for a few years, then Ocella for a few more, then Loestrin 24 for about a year). I stopped taking the pill in October, and I'm wondering if I will need to have my dosage changed. I'm finding conflicting info about how bcp and thyroid meds interact. Anyone have any experience with this?

    If I were you I'd have bloods done and see what that shows you. The pill plays silly buggers with lots of people, me included so I have a coil instead (now I've finished making babies). :smile:

    I have two beautiful children...produced while on two different forms of birth control. I am a firm believer that my thryroid caused me to get pregnant!!
