Ways to avoid the temptation?
My boyfriend broke up with me completly out of nowhere today, and I've been sitting here for hours trying to convince myself not to eat becuase I fear that its just emotional want to eat.. How do you stop yourself from binge eating? Im so bad for it, and I need ways to help stop.

I havre been talking to myself, and the monster. I say empowering things like "I am stronger than the monster!" "The binge can't beat me!" "I am going all the way today!" Write down a list of things that make you feel powerful when you say them. I had my first binge free day in quite a while yesterday. This helped me so much! Also, get your tale as far away from the kitchen as possible! Read a book, there are many good books about binging. Maybe do an internet shopping distraction. I hear the book "overcoming binge eating" is very good. Maybe try writing it out. Write out all that you feel and why food will help. Why you want to resist, why you can resist. Write some good things about yourself. It's all about getting into your own head and disarming the traps!

Shopping and book reading is great. Also calling a friend to talk about it , writing about my feelings, or going out for a walk. Sometimes I just need a good cry as well, so I will just have a crying fit or distract myself by taking a long shower or bath.. or both. I find that my binge is a result of a lot of anxiety and pent up frustration so a good cry or an intense gym session is very cathartic... even throwing a bunch of pillows at a wall!0
