Proteins/Fats Question about totals...

I have my goals set to 1940cal a day with a 70/25/5 split and the MFP calculator is suggesting 151/121/24 of f/p/c, the proteins seem very high, does anyone have some insight into this? Ketocalculator suggests a range of 58-113 so I'm a little perplexed...

I'm not even sure if I have enough info in this, but insight/help would be great.

Is this the keto calculator you used? http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/
And the 70-25-5 was the recommendation from it? It does seem mismatched.

I just looked at my protein range, and it's 70-136 g, with a recommendation of 86. The 58-113 seems off.

Hi sorry, Southern Hemisphere here! I used the Keto calculator that you have used and was using it's advice, however was finding it difficult to hit my targets of 60/35/5, so read some other info/other peoples guides and moved to 70/25/5 both ways the protein guide that MFP gave me (when I changes my macros goals) seemed very high!

I think i'll just stick with the keto.calculator suggestions rather than the MFP ones. Thanks.
  • Try this link for a good setup.

What I generally do is go through the guided setup first so my calorie total is configured for me (I know in Keto you don't need to count calories but I still do) and then I go through it again manually and set it as 5/35/60.

I generally repeat that process at every 8 or 9 pounds lost.

1940 calories, divide by 100 for percentage, so 19.4 calories is 1%.
    70/25/5 split for fat/protein/carbohydrates?
70*19.4= 1358 calories from fat. Divide by 9 to get grams (150.888...)
25*19.4= 485 calories from protein. Divide by 4 to get grams (121.25)
divide that result by 5 to get carbohydrates, and you get 24.25g for that.

For that percentage split, the math checks out. For me, I go with the 65/30/5 split, so I basically try to match 1g of fat with 1g of protein and have a little less than 1g of carbs for every 7g of fat and protein. I'm still usually pretty low on carbohydrates, and I do tend to go a little high on protein. Too much fat makes me queasy.
