Paprika?

So, I have finally gotten my act together and really fully embraced the paleo lifestyle. I've pretty much cut our all the fruit, am eating a ton of protein, and am getting under 50 carbs in a day and I feel really awesome! Instead of having a fresh produce juice in the mornings (that I make with my juicer) I have switched over to eggs. I have found when seasoning them and pretty much everything else, I am really enjoying using paprika. I kind of put it on everything. I have looked it up online in a few different places to make sure that there isn't anything in there that I shouldn't be eating as far as the paleo lifestyle is concerned, but before I continued to just go wild with it, I thought I would ask you guys and make sure that it isn't too good to be true. Is paprika ok to use to season your food?

From my understanding, any pure spice is ok. Paprika, I believe, is a type of pepper that is dried and ground. I have discovered I love paprika as well. I would closely watch spice mixes though (steak seasoning/chili seasoning) as they stick a lot of crap in them. I have to say I make my own spice mixes.

    This is an awesome resource:

It's a quick, easy to use paleo foods reference guide in PDF form.

Yes, paprika is an acceptable spice, and even better is smoked paprika! If you can find it you should definitely try it.

There are several different paprikas (regular, smoked, Hungarian, etc.) that have slightly different flavor profiles and can add a lot to a dish.

As mentioned, paprika is dried, ground red bell pepper (sometimes other peppers in the same heat/sweet range). Everything you'd want to know: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paprika
