My latest hba1c has come back satifactory for a person with type 2 diabetes. It used to be 12.0 (107 mmol/mol)) was then 9.4 (80mmol/mol it is now around 7.3 (56 mmol/mol) but my practitioner thinks this is ok as it includes the whole holiday period where less helpful food was consumed. If it is down next time my meds get reduced : ) I have been eating healthily for ages and I attribute this to extra exercise upping from 2 or 3 60 minute gym trips a week to 4 to 5 and cutting out all bread, white rice and pasta and keeping carbs to under 100g a day. it works for me and I am very happy. I have also purchased a glucose monitor and take fasting glucose every couple of days this has identified certain fruits I can't eat too. this was a big help as we don't get them prescribed here in the UK unless we inject insulin, it has proved to be a useful tool.
