Hey everyone,
I was wondering what heart rate monitors you guys use. I'd ideally be using one to determine caloric burn for the entire day, not just during workouts.

A Garmin using Firstbeat algorithms is the only one in a study to estimate outside of the normal steady-state aerobic zone that HRM calorie formula's are normally valid for.
But that's an expensive option. Now, if going into endurance cardio events, great training tool.
You'd only use it a few times to verify what a normal day looks like - usually a non-exercise day. Then you just use it for exercise.
(Forerunners 910XT & 310XT & 610 & 410 & 210 & 110, 405CX, Edges 800 & 500)
Otherwise, FitBit for daily activity, HRM for exercise, like if you want to do different zone training.0 -

yes, sorry, i meant I'd use it for daily activity not including exercise. I see that FitBit currently offers two products, the "one" and the "zip". Which do you feel is better?0 -

I have no opinion on either model, not researched the differences. I do like their business model better than BodyMedia. The free website syncing sounds better. Actually, free sounds better, no matter what. Usually.0
