How many of us take the 5000 steps a day ? I found an article on Livestrong.com

People who walk 10,000 steps per day expend an additional 2,000 to 3,500 calories per week. One pound of fat equals 3,500 calories. Typical Americans take 2,300 to 3,000 steps per day. This is dismal compared with Amish people, who take an average of 19,000 steps per day. The Amish community has the lowest percentage of obese adults compared with the American population at large.
