I'm reading backwards thru the postings so these replies may be a little disjointed my friends!

Janet: so sorry to hear about you MIL being back in ICU.. and the myriad of issues that come along with - must be very hard for you as you said to watch your hubby going thru the roller coaster of emotions too.. and I absolutely second your kudos to nurses!! My mom was an RN and having spent most of our lives in numerous hospitals growing up with her medical issues, while I respect many doctors, it is absolutely the nurses who give 110% to the patients and the families, AND who work their a$$es off 24/7! I truly believe if there are angels are on this earth, they operate as RN's in disguise, so I'll join you in thanking all of them for their love and help to our family over the years!

I was telling one of my friends at work about your and your planks Janet.. about how when you started you couldn't do one... and the day you posted you had done 3 of them I still remember!) and huge congrats to you for not fleeing in the face of (or the butt looking at ya) the marathoners!! I admit I am one who is also intimidated by a group setting for exercise.. perhaps in the spring I will push my comfort zone and sign up for one to try .. ty!

Tonya... so glad to hear you are finding your inner strength to carry you through this difficult time... and very glad if knowing we are all here for you has helped in any way... big hugs...

Susan: Saw your profile post about the changes you are making - I replied on your profile but I'd love to hear how you find the results if you feel like sharing as you go!! Know that you have 100% support here as always!! (and I can't help it.. I still think of you in my head now as my little desert rat LOL)...

Carol: I remember you sharing your story when we first got together; I am still amazed at and applaud your perserverane and strength in battling back from such a major medical issue!!

Kobie.. there's a commerical on TV here for some cold medicine... showing a man in bed with a cold playing with a toy airplane... and asking his wife to call his mommy to come take care of him... ahem.... she just looks at him and throws a bottle of the cold medicine at him LOL... it does seem tho.. that when guys get sick in any way... they turn into 6 yr old boys again... while women jsut suck it up and keep doing what they gotta do lol.. hmmmm!

Tammy - so sorry to hear you've been hit with another bug!! Ever notice it seems to go in cycles.. we can go eons without a cold or any kind of ick, an then one year, it seems like we can get hit time after time over a period of months.. seems like this is one of those years for you my friend!! And between work and those nasty testing times (and yes I agree its stoopid! but they do that here too) and taking care of your family as well.. no doubt you're not getting the rest your body needs to help heal itself ... and there's no point saying make sure you rest, cause as previously stated.. women are like the everready bunny.. we just keep going and going and going.. so i'll just wish you a speedy recovery instead! Love that you wrote a book on Benny... was he a child in it??? LOL

Bis how are things going with your decision to put some $ in for exercise? Did you go that route??

Bestmother: they're forecasting a week of frigid temps coming up after this thaw... so I'll be struggling right along with you.. I loved Language lassie's links.. and I decided to incorporate her ideas of lightening up some favs on my own.. I made a yummy beef stew the other night and am going to make a shephers pie.. without the shepherd (the potato topping?) or will use sweet potatos or yams to cover it instead, and add in some extra veggies too...

Gail: YOU ROCK woman!!! I had no idea you were going to start using the gym at work.... well done YOU!! i know you miss being able to use your stairs with the construction going on, so that's an awesome change of pace to hit the gym!! So proud of you.... hugs hugs hugs!

K... I can't feel my butt anymore (hmm... again prolly TMI?) so better get this posted and get up!!! Have a great week Hatters.. and don't forget to share a laugh when ya can... it burns calories AND ups that happy stuff.. endorphins? :o)

I think there's a part of me that's actually scared about the day I get on the scale and see it actually show up... does THAT sound weird to anyone? Part of me wants to stop eating completely until I see it, and part of me wants to run out and stuff my face so I don't see it.... hmmm...

I know exactly how you feel, Snoozie, It's almost like it's my security blanket, and I won't know how to act without it. But , here's to learning how to live without it!!:drinker:

LOL I dont know how either Gail....

but thanks.. its good to know im perhaps not losing my mind after all.. i've decided not to think about it anymore right now lol.. i'm just going to continue with focusing on my eating and my sugars and plotting some activity, and will worry about it (or celebrate it) when it happens  (but very much appreciate the reassurance you know what I mean! )

So you asked for it Ms. Snoozie> Here you go for my laugh of the day:laugh: :

I have been in many places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone.

I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there.

I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my friends, family and work.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore.

I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there too often.

I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.

Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older.

One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age I need all the stimuli I can get!

And, sometimes I think I am in Vincible but life shows me I am not!

Not only was the hamster dead all the lights were off !!!! Thanks so much for that I laughed out loud as I read it.

Snooozie its wonderful that you have become aware that things are changing. And as I have just been reminded by Janet, we can do this !!!

Like others I loved the MIL married to my Dad. I have been popping in just be retiring early. I did make it through this round without shots so that is a bit of improvement.

So my sister and I are treating our Dad to bday dinner at Restaurant Cotton this Saturday !!! I am looking forward to the experience. Some of you may remember the food networks Chopped. The winner Cory Bear, Cotton's is his restaurant http://www.restaurantcotton.com/

I am trying to save a few calories per day to compensate for the experience but scrimping is not something I am prepared to do for this occasion. My sister will also be baking an Orange Italian Cream cake. We found the recipe a while back on pinterest and since it combines two of his favorite cakes it should be the perfect bday cake.

To those that are sick or have sick ones prayers of comfort and may God keep you each in his loving embrace.

We are having a bit of bad weather tonight and are trying to wait it out but its time to shut down.

Tonya hope that means things are beginning to calm down for you. Totally know what you mean about being slack in posting as I have been the same so totally understand. That is what is great about the group knowing that we are always welcome in our own time.

So today is the big day Restaurant Cotton. I still haven't been about to decide what I am going to enjoy but I have decided that this is a one time memories with my Daddy and family and I am not going to be bound by the numbers of on a scale there is always tomorrow to make choices that fit into the plan.

Hope everyone has a great weekend the ground hop says early spring !! of course that means early HOT in the South LOLOL

Don't confuse your path with your destination. Just because its stormy now doesn't mean that you aren't headed for sunshine.

So in case any of you are looking for something entertaining to do this weekend, I recommend riding in an elevator and...

    1) When there's only one other person in the elevator, tap them on the shoulder and then pretend it wasn't you.
    2) Push the buttons and pretend they give you a shock. Smile, and go back for more.
    3) Call the Psychic Hotline from your cell phone and ask if they know what floor your on.
    4) Bring a camera and take pictures of everyone in the elevator.
    5) Move your desk into the elevator and whenever anyone gets on, ask if they have an appointment.
    6) Lay down the twister mat and ask people if they would like to play.
    7) Leave a box in the corner, and when someone gets on, ask them if they can hear ticking.
    8) Pretend you are a flight attendant and review emergency procedures and exits with the passengers.
    9) When the doors close, announce to the others, "It's okay, don't panic, they open again!"
    10) Grimace painfully while smacking your forehead and muttering, "Shut up, all of you, just shut up!"
    11) Crack open your briefcase or purse, and while peering inside, ask, "Got enough air in there?"
    12) Stand silently and motionless in the corner, facing the wall, without getting off.
    13) Wear a puppet on your hand and use it to talk to the other passengers.
    14) Listen to the elevator walls with your stethoscope.

Hope you all have a fun Saturday
