How is everyone doing? Congratulate yourselves, you have made it to week four check in....that is a milestone. So today let's share our celebrations.
How do you celebrate each goal accomplishment?
What do you have planned for the big finale?
and...
What tips have you found most helpful along our journey?
For me:
I treat myself to a massage, or extra time in the tub with some aromatherapy to just chill,
yesterday I allowed myself to sleep in--wow did that feel great
My celebration for the big finale is two fold...one I'm buying myself a new pair of jeans without looking at price tag AND I may post a picture of myself in the "mother of the bride" dress I bought (in a smaller size YAY)--it is SEXY.
Tips along the way that I have LOVED and found so helpful were: Tammi fixing my fitbit for stairs, doing squats at work, the WTG's and Nice work posted on my check ins. YOU guys are amazing--I have not been this successful before--so I know it is this groups encouragement that is making it happen. THANK YOU!! Have an amazingly successful week folks!

Hello I hope everyone had a great week. For me, My parents are in town and we went out to eat dinner twice this weekend. I planned out my food prior and was able to stay very close to my calorie goal! Last night was a little more difficult because the restaurant did not list the calories in the menu entrees, I limited my wine, which was helpful...and I didn't touch the bread that they brought out! That was hard...I said, I will wait until closer to food to come out to have a piece, otherwise I might indulge in more than one piece. Well...the bread went quickly and the server didn't bring us more, so there was not any for me to be tempted by.
OK..and I lost 2 pounds this week. Whoo Hoo!0 -

Marla you are doing awesome and so encouraging to everyone. You are so close to your goal! Congrats!0 -
Weight = 140.0 pounds > +/- 0.0 pounds this week (a total of - 2.8 pounds so far)
I will post pictures this week...
* I weighed in on my actual days assigned this week...and will continue to do so!
* I did better on my weekend this week...and only intend to do even better next week, along with Thursday's (and so on).
I am yet to actually hit a mile-stone accomplishment point for my self; however, I was told that I looked like I have lost at least 20 pounds from family members who last saw me on Boxing day...all due to tending to my Celiac Disease, less bloating and looking healthier! So, that felt nice :-)
I'm thinking that I am going to treat my self to a manicure and pedicure for my final; as long as I reach my goals!
I have founds all of the tips and support through FMP VERY helpful :-)
Congratulations to my-self and all of you!
Thanks Marla and everyone else :-)

Being a part of this group keeps me accountable, even when I don't do what Im supposed to! I didnt' log my food at all this weekend, but I still made good food choices. Friday I went out to dinner with my husband and we split a shrim cocktail, we each had one tiney piece of bread and it was a baggette, so the bread slices were small. We both has steak and veggies. We did order a cheesecake and we have had one bite each night for the past 3 nights. I vegged out on the couch Saturday but I ate well. I had 2 glasses of wine Friday and Saturday night, which is not normal for me but I was enjoying my date nights with my husband. Sunday we went to Cracker Barrell and I ordered Tea, Turkey sausage and egg beaters. We went to the Louisville RV and Boat show and walked all over and passed on the carnival type food there and waited until we got home to have lunch which was a tuna salad!
Even though I'm not seeing numbers changing on the scale, I can feel a difference in my clothes. I'm happy that my husband seems to be more on board with eating better now that he has dropped 20 pounds in 3 weeks from eliminating Mountain Dew. I'm jealous of his weight loss but happy that he's ready to get healthy with me and do more with me because he feels better. After the Boat show we both came home ate lunch and then cleaned the house and did some grocery shopping. So I was on the move all day Sunday.
My mid challenge reward is going to be a massage. My long term reward was going to be a fancy pair of jeans, but I think I want to spend my $100 on the newest Fitbit.
This is a journey and not a diet. This time I'm just trying to make permanent changes in my food choices and eating habits while encorperating fitness. I love all the encouragement and tips I recieved from all the girls. I'm looking forward to the changes to come in the coming weeks.0 -
Hi Everyone,
I am so happy I joined this group! Everyone is so positive and encouraging!
I logged all week (missed Saturday but I had written down on paper) so I entered it yesterday.
Activity was a little better last week. Still didn't do an actual workout but did get up and move around during tv watching, up & down steps, using the stability ball.
My reward is the satisfaction that I have stayed accountable to our group and that I have logged everyday! We are also getting a new puppy next month so he will be my ultimate reward!
I love reading everyone's success stories and it has been so nice knowing I am not alone in this journey!
Hope everyone has a great week!

It sounds like you are well on your way on this journey. It is not a sprint we are in this for a new healthy lifestyle. Keep up the good work.0

This lifestyle journey has been so rewarding. I love the encouragement, and listening to the stories of the everyday struggles we have to find a way through. It is helpful to hear how people are managing to maintain the positive lifestyle choices, even when it would be easy to make an excuse. The words of encouragement are so helpful, and I feel a commitment to the group to maintain my positive choices, so that I can encourage others. Long story short.........Great Group!
I managed another 1 pound weight loss this week. Due to flu recovery, I just got back to my BFF (treadmill) yesterday, so I am hoping that more positive results will follow this week.
Keep up the good work group.....you are on the road to success! Keep your eyes on the prize!0 -
Good morning,
I have kept up with the logging this week and exercised my three times but I am frustrated that the scale isn't moving. It is probably much better than it could have been considering I have been traveling on the weekends. I even went out to the Olive Garden on Thursday. I filled up with salad (dressing on the side so I knew how much I was eating), skipped the breadsticks, and had grilled chicken. (I am probably ruining food for my husband though. He was disgusted to learn the breadsticks were 144 calories each.)
This week will be a challenge as I am traveling again and we have a football party on Saturday. I am sure that I will be drinking all my calories, but I plan on serving salad along with the hot wings and pizza.
My goal for this week is to buy a scale for my other house so that I can be more accountable. No waiting until Monday morning to see how much damage I have done.
Have a good week everyone!

I am stuck and frustrated! I know that I am NOT alone; if others feel the same...you are NOT ALONE either!
We can all push through this and make it to that point where we start to recognize more and more positives about ourselves, and the scale actually goes down! We have all been working very hard; getting well into routine, but still with our individual ups and downs. Lets try harder than ever and push through this!
For all of you who have made it through this stage, thanks for the encouragement! :-)0 -

LOVE the attitude!! just what I needed this afternoon. Not giving up. Push, push, PUSH!!!0 -
That's right, PUSH! It's not all or nothing, it's one step at a time.
Glad it helped! :-)0 -

You're welcome! It's what I keep telling my-self too! ;-) lol0

I'm down another pound! I felt like that one really didn't want to let go, but when I look at my progress graph, it only took 8 days, which isn't bad when I'm aiming for a pound a week, and we had a birthday celebration for my husband and step dad in there, too. That's been an important lesson- don't get discouraged with out looking at the facts!
I'm starting to think I'll be dropping another pants size- which would be amazing! Not there yet, but the 12's I moved in to are starting to be loose.
I am so happy to be feeling good and making progress, I don't really need any other rewards. But by necessity, I'll be buying a new wardrobe as I reach my goal. There are already quite a few things that are just too big to wear anymore. As I gained the weight, I didn't hang on to "skinny"- too depressing seeing them and not being able to wear them (and I don't have much closet or storage space).
If I continue on the pace I am, of about 5 pounds a month, I'll be at my goal this summer. I work full time in the summer so have more to spend and look forward to some serious shopping.
MFP is the single biggest help for me. I can SEE what I'm doing.
The support here is awesome as well!0 -
It has become very clear to me that the days of starting a diet and losing 2 pounds per week are in the past! I'm enjoying this group because we can commisserate with each other and continue to push each other. I'm going to have to get my patience in check and give myself praises for the little things that I have accomplished in this last 4 weeks and the changes that I hope are becoming habits.
If you have not done so, I urge you to take a picutre of your self as a reference point. I just took my 4 week picutre last night. I would share but I'm only wearing my bra an underwear! I compared this picture to the picutre I took 4 weeks earlier and I could see a slight difference in my waist and my stomach! Since there has been no movement on the scale, I needed to see something and this was enough to keep me motivated!
I know Im doing better than I was 4 weeks ago because I'm drinking my 8 glasses of water almost every day and I'm exercising for a minimum of 3 days a week, I'm eating healthier snacks and cooking dinner at least 5 times per week. I've reached more goals in these last 4 weeks than I have in a lifetime! This group may be small, but it packs a lot of power for me!
I can't wait to see what the next 4 weeks brings and how much better I will look in my next picutre!
Happy Friday:drinker:0
