Mantras

I find when I am struggling it helps to have something inspirational to say to myself to help me push through that wall. I generally find there is a 30 second to two minute barrier when I want to quit that if I can just break past, then I'm good to go for much longer. So here's some things I say. Hopefully they will help you.

These are not pithy little motivational one liners, but mantras that take 20 seconds or more to say out loud (especially when you're breathing heavy). Hopefully you can add some to help me!

In the warrior's code there's no surrender.
Though his body says stop, his spirit says never.

I am a warrior, so there is no surrender.
If my body says stop, my spirit shouts NEVER.

I will never stop. I will never give up.
I will not surrender. I will persevere.

    I am a machine. I am a transformer.
Pain is weakness leaving my body.
There is no fear of failure.

    When the weakness is obliterated,
    when the pain is gone,
    when the fear has fled,
I will look back and only I will remain.
The me I want to be.
    The machine. The warrior.

    There is no weakness.
    There is no pain.
    There is no fear.
    There is no failure.
There is just me. It's just me... just me.

While all the quitters hide their tears of regret,
my body's a fortress cause I've paid for the rent.
Pushing pain and dedication a daily command,
so soon I'll be standing in the promised land.

I'm in love with this fitness intent.
My quit is taken, though it don't know it yet.
What I know is success is there to be found,
'cause my health is the ultimate crown.

Till the roof comes off, till the lights go out
Till my legs give out, can’t shut me down.
Till the smoke clears out - am I nuts? Perhaps
I'ma rip this *kitten* till my bones collapse.

'Cause sometimes I just feel tired, feel weak.
And when I feel weak, or feel like I wanna give up,
I search within me, and find my inner strength.
I pull that quit out of me, and get that motivation to not give up.
I am not a quitter, no matter how bad I wanna
just fall flat on my face and collapse.

Till the roof comes off, till the lights go out
Till my legs give out, won't stop this bout.
Till the smoke clears out, the machine breaks down
I'ma crush this *kitten* till my bones collapse.

I am a champion. All I know is success.
There may be times when I stumble,
there may be times when I fall,
there may be times when I get knocked down,
but because I am a champion I get back up.
    Every time.

I am happy with where I am,
    but I am not content.
    I will push myself harder.
    I will push myself farther.
Leave behind puddles of sweat and regret.
I will pursue the greatness I know is in me.

    Like a goddam champion!
