I watched a Vikings/Packers game at my buddies apartment one year and the game came down to the last play and the Vikes won... about 10 minutes later we heard sirens like crazy so we went to the deck to check it out. Well, we saw paramedics wheeling this guy fully decked out in Vikings gear singing the Vikings fight song on the stretcher... His buddy said he got so excited he jumped back on his chair tipped it over and cracked his head on some form of table. It was a hell of a game.

What are some of your favorite stories from apartment living that involved late night noise disturbances?

Before I found the nice, quiet, sane apartments I live in now, I lived in a 'colorful` part of town. There was a small pool that was directly in view of my apartment window. So one night, around 9pm, I was just relaxing while on the internet when I heard yelling and fighting. Walked over to the window and saw 2 girls, I'd guess early 20's, pulling each other's hair, swearing loudly. The pool is not fenced off and eventually both ended up falling in. The fighting ended after that. One guy popped out of a car, picked up one of the drenched girls, and left with her. The other was pissed and just stormed off inside another apartment.

In college once I had the firedept knock on my door at 3AM saying they got a report of a sucide in my apt. Not sure which one of my friends made that call but in any case the firemen/cops looked around my apt then left.

I don't think they are a key part of single life. I've owned my own homes for over 10 years. I would never go back to apartment living.

At my old house, we definitely had some neighbors involved in some sketchy stuff...but we never had problems at my apartment complex...

Back in MN I lived in an old apartment complex that used hot water heat. Well the pipes tend to make noises and bang. We lived on the top floor and there was a old Ukrainian and his mother living below us. He called the cops on us because he thought we were running a brothel out if our apartment. The first 2 times he did that was the middle of the day while both my roommate and I were at work. We had no idea at that time he was calling the cops on us. One Saturday I had gotten home from work and was home for a couple hours before heading out. He comes knocking on my door and starts yelling at me in this really thick accent so I had no clue what he was saying. I pretty much had to ask him wtf he was talking about. That my roommate and I are barely there. I was working 60 hours a week and my roommate was working about the same and spending time at her finances place. He would not believe me and kept yelling at me for about 10 mins. It wasn't until I called the landlord to tell him about it that I found out he had been calling the cops on us even though both the landlord and cops were telling him it was probably just the pipes. The next time he came and yelled at me was the day I was moving out. I was vacuuming the apartment and the only thing there was me and the vacuum. I told him we were moving out and he said he didn't care and kept yelling at me for making noise.

Almost every person who has lived in an apartment has a story that involves strange neighbors. Any other ones?
