    One of the unexpected bonuses of being on MFP is the dearth of recipes that are out there. Tonight we had grilled atlantic salmon seasoned with chili powder (it's great) a low cal cole slaw and spaghetti squash au gratin! I ate like a little piggy but still only had 600 cal. That leaves me with a lite snack tonight!

    Oh, and in keeping with the theme of this group, the salmon was grilled to perfection using a two finger tumbler of scotch as a timer!

    Hello Lushes!! I'm late joining in once again! Work has been crazy busy & by the time I get home at night I forgot to check in :( I can't believe it is February ALREADY!! We're going to blink & it's going to be March!

    I signed up for my first 5k yesterday! It's the day before St. Patty's Day! I am excited yet nervous at the same time. Eeek!

    So...looks like Monday-Thursday will be my sober nights. Hubby FINALLY has Friday & Saturday off so it's going to be so wonderful actually getting to hang out with my husband on "normal" weekend time!!! WOO HOO!!!

    Monday - champagne, it's much easier to abstain when the husband is home. Not sure what time he got home but I was already in bed and probably will be again tonight too.

    The husband has returned from Park City and thank goddddd....cuz I eat like crap when he's gone.

    Looking forward to getting back on track. Made some homemade soup with tons of fresh veggies and quinoa. Maybe a glass of wine tonight? We shall see.

    Honestly, not drinking during the week hasn't affect my weight either way...well I haven't actually weighed in several months, but my clothes aren't fitting differently so I assume that my weight is not changing. But I do notice that I get up better for my morning workouts without drinking, last thursday, for instance, I have some wine and could not get up friday morning, so it is what it is. It is saving me money in the long run AND I get an apple peanut butter snack at night, so :bigsmile:

    Kate...I admire you not weighing yourself for a while! I need to do that! Honestly, my clothes are fitting me just fine, but I've gained weight. The weird thing is...my friend told me the other day how skinny I was looking! That just made my whole day! Cause I haven't lost weight so that's the weird thing! Sometimes I just don't understand my body!

    Bridget-sometimes inches lost don't neccesarily mean weight loss on the scale, great job. I didn't intend on not weighing BUT I know that I probably won't like the number on the scale, since I was pretty much out of the game from the end of Sept until the beginning of January cause of my knee and I figure as along as I am doing what I think is right for my body then there is no need to get myself upset now, ya know :huh: :laugh:

    I completely agree. And whether you want it to or not...sometimes the number on the scale can make or break your day. I always try to tell myself that it's just a number and it really doesn't mean anything as long as I feel healthy. Unless it gets crazy out of hand of course.

    Helloooooo!
    Feb 1 - 1 pint of Magners, 2 glasses of red
    Feb 2 - 2 glasses of sangria, 2 glasses of red
    Feb 3 - 3 glasses of champagne with pistachio liquer
    Feb 4 - 0
    Feb 5 - a 312 (because my husband is still sick and I'm about to rip out my hair!!!)

    If I'd had wine, I would have probably drank the whole bottle last night. My husband is sicker than I've ever seen him so he's grumpy and miserable and I'm having to do everything house, food, baby related. I'm not blaming him at all. It just sucks. I have to drive across town twice a day to and from day care, which he typically does since he works next door. I have to feed her, put her to bed, bathe her, make bottles, etc etc etc. It makes me realize how much he helps out..... Rant over.

    So I have drank 4 or 5 days of February but have not gotten tanked yet. Which is my main goal. I'm moderating! NOt sure what I'll do tonight. Probably 0; I have to weigh tomorrow and drinking seems to throw my weight off in either direction depending on how much I drink.

    I don't like the scale to tell me what kind of day to have! but still, it is hard...

    Monday=0 drinks
    Tuesday=0 drinks
    Wed=budgetted for 7 oz of red wine and a couple of slices of pizza. I will also get my 30 min run before that!
    Tomorrow is my birthday and I plan to split a bottle with the husband and Friday out with the girls. Trying a dinner-to-dinner fast sat-sun just to make up for it...

    Weigh-in for me today and I was dead even with last week. So, I had my 3 days of drinking and I did not moderate. My plan is to continue until the 15th for a party and when family visits.

    I have to say that it took me a couple of days to recover from the drinking bout - I think I am getting old.

    0 last night. I'm back to being boring, the husband is home.

    His job has improved somewhat...no more weekends. And he just found out he's getting his bonus in March. We had given up hope for that. We should just put it in the son's college fund but the hell with that..I'm going to plan a vacay. Probably not Hawaii again...but something wonderful nonetheless. :drinker:

    Still sick. so I am thinking of aiming for zeros until Friday when I will most likely be madly scrambling to get my packing done.

    Even if I am still sick in Kauai it will not keep me down. We have an air tour, horseback/swimming and zip line/hiking/kayaking tours scheduled. We are taking snorkel gear and new hiking boots and trekking poles. I will be moving even if my nose is running non stop and I fell like sh1t. I will not let it ruin my vacation.:grumble:

    Hve a great day lushes and if you are enjoying, then enjoy one for me. Thanks!!!

    I am so jealous, well not the being sick part seeing I am still a snot factory after seven days, but the Kauai and adventure part. You are going to have a fabulous time.

    So far I have been doing sober February and still not on purpose. Just don't feel like drinking when I am blowing my nose or coughing every 10 minutes.

    Totally relate but I decided to do sleepy time tea with a shot of vodka and honey with an ibuprophen chaser to get some sleep tonight.
