Hi all
I have today decided that I have to try something new in my weight loss journey. I have been on MFP since August 2012 and have, to date, lost 11 lb. I didn't mind it was coming off slowly, because I know it isn't going to happen overnight; I have dropped a dress size and the inch loss was enough to keep me motivated.
The thing that is really getting me down now is the restricted number of calories I have been eating - MFP told me to eat 1200 so I kept this up initially for about 4 weeks (had to up the exercise every day so I could have extra calories just to eat 3 meals a day!). Then I upped it to 1300 as I tried to eat a banana and realised this was 100 calories which I thought was crazy, as trying to eat healthier foods therefore put me over my calorie limit.
Anyway, I am now at the point where 1300 cals a day is making me wanna rebel and stuff my face with rubbish because I am sick of it! I had cut out orange juice at lunch as it was too high in calories, I am eating toast for lunch so I can eat my dinners. I am feeling pretty depressed really and now I have been stuck at the same weight for over 4 weeks it has just finished me off! I don't want to give up the occasional treat or takeaway as I know this is for life, and I can't not eat those things for the rest of my life.
I am looking forward to eating more and hopefully losing again - I am glad I found this group!
Thanks for listening.
Michelle

Hi, I'm kind of new here myself but I wanted to give you a quick "Welcome!"
Have you checked out all the reading material in the stickies? For me, the most important thing I read was the "starter kit" pdf. There's a $5 charge to download it, but most everything you need to know to get started is in that 22-page info packet.
Also, I've found this group to be very friendly, very understanding and very, very strong! I hope I can one day get a bit stronger myself.0 -
Welcome! ^^^I agree^^^ - the Starter Kit you can get on www.EatMore2WeighLess.com is a great tool, and you will find yourself referring to it often. All of that info is awailable in the threads, but it is much easier to find in that guide. Feel free to add me if you would like some support - always happy to help if and when I can :-)

Thanks for the info - and thanks for the welcome - I feel more positive already having those extra calories and being able to fill them with healthy high cal food. One problem is though I always go over my carbs - need to look into some low carb foods!0

You sound just like me a few months back! While I've not been following it properly I've used the past few months for a break from 'dieting' I run and wanted to lose weight to help my running what I found one day is my running suddenly felt easier & I thought wow I've turned a corner all that persistence is paying off. Right up until I realised it wasn't the training it was fuelling my body properly.
I've not lost much in lbs but inches are smaller in a smaller size jeans (still room for improvement though) and I feel so much better.
The scales which ruled my life are gathering dust & I feel at peace with my body for the first time in my adult years. I am eternally thankful I stumbled across MFP and more importantly EM2WL.
I'm sure you'll find the same & another shout out to get the starter kit.
Welcome & feel free to add me as a friend too.0 -
Welcome! I've recently joined the group as well and the one big thing I have noticed in roughly 7 or 8 days is that I feel so much better! Trying to stick to such a low calorie limit made me tired and grumpy. Now I have much more energy to put into my workouts and into my life in general. Still fighting the urge to go low cal some days, but I truly believe this is the way to go. Give our bodies what they need to function properly. Again, welcome!0
