I've had plaque psoriasis with a small side of pustular, (when it gets really bad,) since I was three months old. It used to be on my feet, back of my knees, inside of my elbows, and all over my hands. Now it seems only concentrated on my fingers, slightly under my nails, and my palms during winter, with an occasional spot that arises on one of my feet from time to time.
I'm a germaphobe, so I wash my hands constantly, which makes my dry skin and psoriasis to crack and bleed if I don't moisturize, especially during winter. I go through an 18 oz bottle of Aveeno knock-off every two weeks. It took me several years to find a lotion that wouldn't dry up after 2 minutes. Gold bond worked fine, but it was heavy and greasy and expensive, Aveeno was cheaper and worked just as well.
Sometimes if I'm rough with my hands during lab, my fingers will start bleeding inside of my gloves. Sometimes people look at my hands and ask what's wrong with them, and I'd have to explain. A girl in high school thought it was kind to point out my hands looked like old people's hands and laugh about it.
Luckily it's not too noticeable now since I carry around a small bottle of lotion wherever I go, and eating better has helped clear it a bit, although when winter rolls around, dryness and flare-ups come back with a vengeance XP.
