So, what do you wear on your feet when you lift? Are running shoes really bad? If you want to run a little after lifting, do you change from your lifting shoes to your running shoes?

ETA - pics would be awesome :-)

    I wear converse all-stars. I'd recommend a flat bottom shoe for deads/squats.

New Balance Minimus with Vibram soles. I deadlift barefoot still though.

After discovering that all my current shoes are gel soled and not suitable, I worked out totally in bare feet today and felt a lot steadier, so may not bother paying out for shoes. I do work from home though, so no horrible stuff on the floor!!!

The problem with running shoes is that they provide a cushiony/unstable base, that's not what you want with a barbell on your back.

Sounds like a thinly veiled foot fetish post.

J/k. :) I wear New Balance something or others. They suffice to run afterwards, too.

I wear sketchers because they are the flattest shoes I own, and I don't want to buy new shoes right now.

    I squat in these

Sooooooooooooo good, great depth is easy and you feel like your feet are nailed to the floor you get so much support from them.

    Everything else it's flat converse.

Either Merrell "Barefoot" minimalist shoes or Vibram Five Fingers. In fact, they're almost the only shoes I ever wear anymore.

New Balance Minimus with Vibram soles.

    I use those too.

My kids would laugh at me if I wore Converse like they do.

I'm barefoot these days. If my next gym insists on shoes, then I'll go back to vibrams.

I wear random flat soled shoes. I need to get something with more support though as my feet slip in them when doing sumo squats.
