Here is one of our favorite at our house:

Salt Free Taco Seasoning

6 teaspoons Chili Powder
5 teaspoons Paprika
4 1/2 teaspoons Cumin
1/8 teaspoons Cayenne Pepper

1. Combine all ingredients in a jar with a tight fitting lid
2. Mix well shaking
3. Store in a col dry place up to 6 months
4. Makes about 21 teaspoons (about 1/2 Cup) 7 teaspoons equal a 1.25 oz pkg. of purchased taco seasoning.

We use it for our Taco, Fajitas, and even Chili.

Thanks for posting that recipe, I love taco seasoning and now it will be great to make one with no salt! Think I'll make a taco salad this weekend.

Tried the Extra Hearty Veggie Chili recipe from the book last night and it was very tasty! I wasn't sure how it would be with SO many veggies in it but it turned out great. The flavor from the seasonings really made it! Very filling too.

This Salt-Free Blackened Seasoning is great... we've pan-blackened tilapia with this and it's delicious!


1 1/2 tablespoons paprika

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon ground dried thyme

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano
