The Bellevue address you see is just a service that is used for people to privately register a website (called "whois" data). The actual company decided not to publish their contact info when registering the site and could be anywhere from California to Dubai. The local contact has almost definitely never even seen the website but will pass along communication for them.

You don't like being famous? ;)

Great progress, and sorry for the probably incredibly redundant online privacy rant.

Ahh man, I was looking forward to go kick some doors down.

They want to get you back for more money. I went through this process with a cease and desist with about 6 different sites that stole some custom artwork and were reselling it. The outcome was that the lawyer ended up sending an official looking letter to them asking them to take it down on a law firm letterhead. Most of them did.

But if they don't, dude you're pretty much out of luck. I would honestly just try to contact the place yourself and be polite. I called the first site I found at 3AM and threatened to kill the guy, so this is the kind of advice from someone who obviously wasn't smart about it the first time around. This is a site that sells ****ty and probably fake diet pills. They are already shady as hell.

    Good luck!

Edit: You might actually have luck with a C&D to the hosting provider, but it wouldn't hurt to try the free route first.

I did reach out to the website. Lady I spoke to blew me off, politely, but still blew me off.

Talked with the lawyer for free. I do have a legitimate case, using me without my knowledge, etc etc, however, I have to play internet detective. The drug the website is selling a drug that is tightly controlled by the FDA. Because of this, the business has to be located in the US to register and sell it. It will take time but I have something to go by. Also, because it's a drug that the FDA controls, the attorney general of my state would want to know about this and possible get involved with needing to protect consumers.

Oh man, I got fooled by the troll. Karma, I guess. Well done, Kit.

I've used the search-by-image trick on some emails I've gotten on dating sites and uncovered some things I almost wish I hadn't.

    What the ****....

I'm making a petition to kill the internet now!! People are too weird, how the hell does someone find the time for this crap?

I guess I was fooled too, but the screening process for my FL only consists of hitting the add button.

That's pretty much my screening process too. She was on my FL until last night.

I was awake anyway (had a bout of insomnia last night) so I went creeper status. It didn't really take long, except the girl flexing was on a few different pinterest pages and I had trouble narrowing it down. I still doubt that it was accurate but my point was made and I was losing interest.

Do you have a link to this google tool, I want to make people look stupid too!!!

Go to the Google Images search page. Click on the camera icon on the right side of the search box (it will say "Search by image" when you hover over it), and then you can search by pasting the image URL or by uploading an image from your computer.

omg I didn't know about this tool either!

now i'm wondering what happens once you upload an image to the google search tool...hmmmm :noway:

    this is crazy lol

See... I wouldn't care so much about the lawsuit, but I WOULD report it to the FDA and let it be their problem. There's a bigger picture here than just YOUR image being misused. I don't handle deceit well...

I've found and pull them up in BBB.org. physical address and phone numbers that corresponds with the website. I even have a name. They are not accredited with the BBB ( gee I wonder why) and have had a few complaints.
