Please help! My boyfriend needs to repair his metabolism

Ok I didn't know where else to go and this group is amazing. I know I can't make him do it, he's decided he needs to start eating more. The back story is, he was the type to eat only one meal or just small things like a Wendy's snack wrap or breakfast burritos I make for us . So when he gets home he'll eat dinner and 9/10 times he'll be so full for hours. I'm good to go in an hour lol. Our dinners aren't ginormous either. Usually chicken, broccoli and potatoes or rice. (he can eat the same thing meat and potatoes everyday lol)
What finally changed his mind was we went out to dinner at Chili's last Friday and that night and all day Saturday he was sick like vomiting sick (sorry tmi)

I guess what I'm asking is what should I do to help encourage him along this journey? I'm frustrated because I hate seeing him sick and not feeling well and I know it has to be his super slow metabolism.

Any help I would appreciate greatly!

If you could at least convince him to eat a reasonable breakfast?
Have you mentioned EM2WL? it's a bit hard to explain in person (or it would be for me) you might want to send him one of the main threads and see what he thinks.

Thank you and yes I have tried to explain em2wl to him, you're right it is kind of hard to explain but I think he's on board with it. I used the car with no fuel metaphor. It will help more too when I start seeing more results myself to be an example.

If you are just trying to get more calories in without over filling the stomach think high calorie/low volume foods. Some examples of really healthy options are dried fruit, avocados, nuts, and oils like from olives.

If he wants to go through with this, start SLOW. Very slow. Maybe just help him track his food for a week or two first just to see where he really is with his eating. Then add 100 calories for a week or two. Repeat until he reaches a point where he wants to stop. The tracking will give a constant reminder about making food choices and some issues may be worked out with this simple awareness.

Do you know how many calories he is eating? Start there.

Also, not to stop his plan to eat enough but the Chili's incident may not have been related to over filling the stomach. There has been a nasty stomach bug going around.

Have you downloaded the Starter Kit off of the main www.EatMore2WeighLess.com website? That is a great reference with all the info in one organized place. It is much more organized and concise than trying to hunt the threads tacked at the top of the Forums on MFP. I would highly recommend getting that and sharing it with him :-)

Thank you! all of that helps a lot, I agree with doing things slowly and that was my worry to make sure he's getting higher calorie, low volume foods. I just asked him to download the MFP app on his phone :-)
