Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that yesterday I prepared a new salad for dinner which was low-cal yet delicious!
Trader Joe's - Raw Blanched Slivered Almonds, 1/8 cup (30 g) 85kcal
Trader Joe's - Fresh Organic Baby Spinach, 0.5 container (6 cups ea.) 30kcal
365 - Extra Virgin Olive Oil 100% Italian, 0.3 Tbs 36kcal
Honey, 0.3 tbsp 19kcal
swiss cheese- 1 slice 70kcal
Lemon
Total calories: 240
Put baby spinach and almonds in a salad bowl
Put 1tsp of olive oil and 1tsp of honey in a small container (I used a sippy cup). Squeeze some lemon in it. Add dash of salt, pepper, and onion powder. Ad 1 or 2 tsp of water. Shake well.
Add the dressing to the salad and toss.
Cut the swiss cheese into small slices and add them to the salad. Put in the microwave for 15/20'' . Toss and serve!
For dinner, I ate this salad plus half whole wheat bagel filled with lox. I think this salad will satisfy your sweet tooth, so you won't be craving for dessert afterwards Ah! Another "trick" I use: when I eat cold food (salad, sandwich, sushi...) I always drink hot, unsweetened green tea- it helps me feeling fuller!

One of my favorite low-cal dinners is a stir-fry I make with lots of celery, lots of onions, 1/4 c. of frozen petite peas, shredded chicken, in a little sesame oil, sprinklled with soy sauce and red pepper flakes, topped with a Tbsp of Trader Joe's toasted sliced almonds. Made correctly, it is mostly celery and onions with the other ingredients added for taste (and some protein).0
