Hi! New here and looking for support. I had my bypass Dec. 17th and due to severe complications I almost died. I developed an infection immediately after surgery and had an anastomatic leak. I went into renal failure and became septic. After the first leak was repaired another one was found during an endoscopy and was also repaired. They had to make a 10 inch incision in my stomach so they could find the infection and do an abdominal wash. I ended up on a ventilator. I was hospitalized for 3 weeks ...I had lung problems that required a lung tap, oxygen issues, as well as a host of other problems as well. In addition to this I've been suffering with awful nausea...it is SO difficult to eat I've been on IV nutrition since surgery while I work on tolerating enough food to be healthy.

This has been an awful time for me and complications this severe have really taken their toll. It's hard because I saw one of the best bariatric surgeons in the US. I'm trying to stay positive and thought some support from fellow RNY'ers would help

Wow!! So sorry that you have had such a rought time of it. I wish you well on your recovery and hope that this is the only bump you experience.
