Good Morning Everyone!
I am sure you're all aware that tomorrow is our last weigh-in. I will give everyone through Saturday to weigh.
I am having out-of-town guests Saturday through Monday. I will make the final announcements next Tuesday.
I haven't got much feed-back on the recipes. Maybe not a hot topic.! So I will share just one recipe today.
Strawberry Shake
1/2-1 C. Water (depending on how thick or thin you want it)
1/2 C. Low Fat Cottage Cheese
1 Scoop Whey Protein
2 Packets Stevia Sweetner
Blend all in a blender
Add:
4-5 Frozen strawberry's and blend until the strawberries are blended. Can add ice if you want it thicker or colder. Blend the ice in.
Optional: 2 T Low Fat Whipped Topping....blend in with the mixuture
You can use the base of this shake (the first 4 ingredients) and add any flavors. I use the Jell-o Fat Free Sugar Free Instant Pudding mixes (powder); extracts, coco powder, peanut butter, bananas. Any other fruits you like.
Calories 245
Protein 39
Carbs 14
Fiber 3
Fat 5
Sodium 465
And, of course, these would change...depending on what you added. A reminder that you can go to Foods - Recipes - Create Recipe - Put in the name of the recipe and then the ingredients. Don't forget to save to your database then next time you have the shake...to log it....go to Food...Recipes.... then your receipes will appear...click on the correct one. That way you don't have to log the ingredients every time you have the shake of your choice.
The recipes I have given you...sugar is not listed. I don't really keep track of my sugars, because I know, they are ok. As you can see, I use Stevia Sweetner a lot of the time, which is a natural sweetner and no calories, etc.

I just tried a recipe and like it, so I'll share! I love poppy seed salad dressing, but wanted to have a light version. Here's the recipe:
Serves 6
Ingredients:
1/4 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons light salad dressing or 3 tablespoons light mayonnaise
3 tablespoons nonfat sour cream
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons poppy seeds
1 teaspoon orange zest, grated
Directions:
1. Whisk together until combined.
2. Refrigerate until use.
Easy and yummy! Mine came out to (per 2 tbsp serving): Cals - 46, Carbs - 6, Fat - 3, Protein - 1, Sodium - 61, Sugar - 40 -
I thought I'd share my recipe for what I eat for a treat, everyday.lol.
1/2cup nonfat plain greek yogurt (I prefer the Fage only because it has more protein)
1 TBLSP jello sugar free chocolate pudding-mix only
2 TBLSP sugar free cool whip
Mix it and enjoy. It is thick and reminds me of cheesecake in texture. Sometimes I'll use more cool whip and add in 1 TBLSP peanut butter. I only use the PB if it fits in my macros. Sometimes I'll use butterscotch sugar free pudding too....I always use PB with it. Another mfp friend recently tried cheesecake pudding mix and dipping some honey grahm crackers into it. I think I might try this one of these days.
I do eat this everyday or pretty close to everyday. I LOVE sweets and this has been a big help with not eating candy and stuff like that.
Another favorite for helping with sweets is my chocolate mint protein drink....seriously taste like the thin mint girl scout cookies.
1 scoop protein mix ( I use cytosport whey mix, but any is fine)
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (I have a small lactose issue so any milk or 1/2 cup greek yogurt or cottage cheese work too).
2 TBLSP Hersheys baking cocoa
2-4 drops of mint extract (this is really personal preference).
Add Ice to your preference for thickness and mix in a blender. If using the greek yogurt or cottage cheese a sweetner is needed, would start with 1tsp and go from there. I don't use sweetner when using milk.
Littlewhittle, I'm going to have to try your salad dressing recipe, it sounds good!0 -
Thanks gals for the recipes! I will try all three of them plus, the ones spacecurly and jbnl1991 shared too!0
