I know you guys are super-busy, but I'm leaving for a camping trip tomorrow and will be gone for 5 days, so I thought I'd throw this out there before I left.

So I've been at 2500 (ish) for the past two weeks. Actual average intake was about 2572, oops. :ohwell: Hardly did any cardio but have been doing a ridic amount of work around the house, batch cooking, gardening, cleaning, construction etc so I figure it made up for it (and then some, probably). Weight is still bouncing around between 126.5 and 129. Average is 128.4. Interestingly, it started going down again in the last couple of days even though TOM just started. Not sure what that's all about b/c it usually means a 2-3 lb gain. Weird. I thought maybe my weight had finally gone up for real and was going to stay there but it doesn't appear to be so. Anyways. So, the usual question: MOAR food? Stay here? I am declaring right now that I'm not tracking while I'm away...I don't plan to go crazy but I'll probably have iffy macros and higher intake than usual. Hope you can advise for when I return and get back into a routine!

That is kind of similar to what happened to me. Weight went up, and then started going down. I would conjecture that the weight going up was water/food weight and now it has stabilized and your TDEE may well be higher then your intake. I would go on vacation, have a blast, and then come back, and assuming you are not too much heavier, set your intake at 2,600 (pretty much in line with where you are). If you come back more than a few pounds heavier I would be inclined to dial it back to 2,400 say for a week or two until the weight settles.

LULZ I'm so full of sh-ite. I stuffed my face and came back like 13 lbs heavier. Just a wee bit bloated. I'm down 7.5-8 of those already, but imma just stay at 2400/2500 or so a little while longer until I see where this settles out.

(BUT THE CANDY AND CHIPS AND BOOZE AND COOKIES AND EGGS SCRAMBLED IN BACON GREASE WERE SO GOOD. I regret nothing. :drinker: )

Starting cycle 6 of All Pro tomorrow - possibly my last one before moving on to something else? Either way, the new weights I'll be squatting/DLing/pressing scare the poop out of me. Maybe all those carbs will help?

Hey! You read my mind :) I just came here to update!

So here's what's happened since I upped my intake to 2500:

    Intake Weight
    2482 127 (August 12)
    2649 128
    2537 128.5
    2447 128.5
    2501 128.5
    2500 129
    2857 129
    2449 129
    2540 129.5
    2500 129.5
    2496 128
    2495 127
    2990 126
    H 126.5
    O 129.5
    L n/a
    I n/a
    D n/a
    A Y 139.5 - post-holiday bloat!!
    2079 138
    2040 135.5
    3574 131.5
    2552 132
    2465 131.5
    2486 131
    2501 129.5
    2861 129.5
    2457 129.5
    2481 129.5
    2499 130
    2652 129
? 129.5 - no idea what my intake was, other than "gong show"
    2445 130.5
    2504 129.5
    2500 130
    2496 130
? 130.5 - last night was also a gong show; craving carbs like a maniac lately
    132.5 (today)

I seemed to settle in around 129.5-130 ish after the holiday weight dissipated. I've been mostly on-point with the intake but lately I feel like I can't stuff enough carbs in my face - it's been a struggle to stay on track. Could be the change of season, the fact that school is on again and my schedule has changed (including now waking up at 4:30 - I'm tired a lot). I have to start being more careful about this or could easily lapse into bad habits. Weight today is up obvs, a result of carb-face-stuffing (and also TOM is due any time so that doesn't help).

I've been 98% consistent with my workouts, both lifting and cardio, and they've felt pretty strong lately, even the scary squats :P

Ok, here's the stats from the past week-ish:

    Date Intake Weight
    Sept 20 2494 132*
    Sept 21 2492 132*
    Sept 22 2505 133*
    Sept 23 2511 131.5*
    Sept 24 2556 131
    Sept 25 2487 131
    Sept 26 2435 131
    Sept 27 2650 130.5
    131.5 -this morning
    *tom

I would say that overall in the past few weeks my cardio is less than it's been all summer, and probably my NEAT too; I'm spending more time working at my desk and less puttering around the house. Lifting is right on track (finishing up week 4 of cycle 6) and I'm feeling pretty strong lately - no problem finishing my reps and I'm now reliably able to do 3-4 chin-ups at a time and this week found that I can also do at least one pull-up.

What say you, o wise and wonderful guides?

Currently in a bit of a slump. Workouts have been sporadic for the past two week; I took last week off entirely and this week's reintroduction left me pretty much out of commission w/DOMs. My intake adherence is not perfect but also not too deplorable - haven't been logging consistently at all, basically (working on this the past few days though). Up 'till this started I had settled on a 2600/day intake with aim of gaining about .3-.5 lb/week (until end of July, with end goal weight of 145) and was largely on track with intake, workouts and desired gain. The scale has been bouncing between 134-5 for the past week, which is a little ahead of schedule but some of the extra could be carb-related water (due to crappy macro-hitting; I was stuck eating conference food for about 5 days in the middle of all this), not sure yet. Finding my weight workouts really brutal - hard on my body, more so than any other time. I'm on week 3 of cycle 7 of AP. The heavy days completely kick my *kitten* and result in pretty significant DOMS (enough to wake me up at night two days later). It's discouraging and puts me off my game/makes me not want to work out as scheduled :frown: Fat gain is also noticeable enough in the exact places I DON'T want to see it that it's borderline starting to bug me, but at least it's cooler now and layers are useful.
    So....boo. :frown:

Sigh. I shouldn't try to type while up past my bedtime :P
I plan to bulk until the end of JANUARY, not July.
Sorry about the super grumpy grumpster post. I gave myself an extra day off between workouts and felt much better doing the 90% day today. That said, I think I've overstepped my abilities on the squats and am going to bring the weight back down. I realized my form is really abhorrent at this load; need to fix that first as it's probably a big reason why they feel so bloody awful.

You've made such excellent progress, you've got the tools, and it's human to falter and get grumpy sometimes. I still think you're awesome.:flowerforyou:
