general tso chicken

3 chicken breasts sliced thin
2 cups pea pods cleaned
4 large carrots peeled and sliced thin
1 bunch green onion cuts on a diagnol in 1 inch pieces
1 onion diced up
1 large bunch of brocoolli cut into florets
1 can water chesnuts(drained)
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
oyster sauce
1 tbsp ketchup
1 1/2 tsp grated ginger
1 tbsp brown sugar


in a wok or large non stick skillet stir fry chicken in 1 tbsp oil,remove and set aside add brocolli and onion and cook 2 minutes,add carros cook 2 more minutes,then add peap pods and water chesnuts

coat lightly with oyster sauce add pepper flakes,ginger,ketchup,brown sugar and coat and mix well,Add green onions and cook 1 to 2 minutes and serve.Can cahnge up the veggies to suit your tatses

  • I did something similar for lunch today. I like the sweet and sour taste, so do a mix of lemon juice, gluten free soy sauce, and some apricot jam mixed in with all the meat and vegetables. YUM.

    i do that mix sometimes:) We love stir fry so I make it often.It is one thing that all 3 of my kids like so it usually is on the menu once a week.:)
