How does meditation benefit you?

I am a comfort eater, or should I say comfort overeater. If I am stressed especially I tend to overeat or turn to comfort food. When I meditate daily it helps me keep my stress under control and has helped me eat more mindfully.

How does meditation help you?

    It helps me to "stop"......push everything aside and just "be"....."breathe" and "destress'.

    I work from home and it wasn't until after I became more mindful that I realized how many times I would get up from my desk, be in the kitchen and stuffing something down in a matter of seconds and not even know how I got there!
    I still instinctively get up and walk away from my desk - but most times now I stop and realize what I'm doing before I hit the fridge.
    Someday I hope to catch myself before I even get up.....

    It relaxes me and also makes me feel recharged at the same time. Like all the worries leave my mind and body and the stress is gone.
