Woo Hoo!!! Good for you! Isn't t great to finally be going in the right direction! When I lost the first 10 pounds, I unpacked all the clothes I have in boxes or hidden away in closets and sorted them in size order and arranged one big closet as my "new store." I have clothes from size 18 to 8 and just seeing them, keeps me motivated. The next week, I lost 3 pounds and I am sure it was from all the exercise I got setting up my "new store." Enjoy your lighter self!
  • Hi K -

    Here's my plan . . .

I'm going to congratulate myself with saving some cash for new clothes. My aim is to get rid of 60# (at least #50) over six-eight months (I'm taking some "slippage" into account).

What I decided was to put a $100.00 bill into a glass jar each time the scale moves down 10#. The jar is placed near the fridge where I can see it (as well as anyone else that comes over). It makes a good conversation piece, prompting others to inquire and support how I'm doing . . .

I went down 10# after the first three weeks on my journey so I placed $100 bill in the jar. I lost 9.8# after another 3.5 weeks so I put another $100 bill in the jar (which I shouldn't have done) Anyways, the following week I gained 4.3# so I took one of the bills and tore it in half and placed the half in a pocket of a pair of jeans that are too small that are amoung a bunch of other clothes in storage that are also too small for me.

It sounds a little complicated, but I'm really looking forward to the BIG WIN . . .

When I'm down 10# from where I am now, I'll take the other half out of the jar and put it with the clothes that are too small and put a new $100 bill into the jar, etc., etc., etc.

I figure I will have "saved" about $500-$600 in the jar, get to go through all the too small clothes and learn that many fit me :-) plus find another $300-$400 in half-torn bills for a total of $800-$900 in the end! And I'm very psyched to do that!

I figure the cost will average about $15-$20 week, which is doable as long as I'm fixing more veggies/healthier foods at home.

Well, hoped this spurred some ideas of your own.

    Rhonda
P.S. Please don't ask for my address
  • Thanks Ladies!
I love the suggestions!! I have two pairs of jeans that I saved for when I am thin again. You know how you just hope for that someday, even though the years click by and I was never losing but gaining.....With the first 10 I have not gone down a size but my regular clothes just feel better. I think the next 10 may show more. I love that idea about throwing money in a jar for each 10 pounds! Great suggestion Rhonda! Too bad we don't live closer we could swap our clothes! I too have a variety of sizes! Thanks friends!
  • I made a Reward List and I set it as my computer background (since I am on this thing all the time!)

for my first reward since I only have a few pounds to lose from my starting weight I am going simple and rewarding myself with a long hot bubble bath and a glass of wine at 160lbs

at 150lbs I am rewarding myself with a new pair of jeans NOT from a thrift store (my husband and I are tight on money so I do a lot of shopping at thrift stores or online garage sales).

at 140lbs I am going to get a Mani/Pedi. I love to be pampered and girled up and once I hit 140 I am going to be over the moon so I want to feel even more gorgeous!

at 130lbs I am going to give in to my ultimate downfall...SHOES more specifically High Heels. I am going to go out and find myself a pair of super cute heels to show off my new booty lol

and at Goal Weight of 120lbs I am going to 1st and foremost buy myself a very cute little bikini. And then I am going to go crazy and buy myself a brand new wardrobe (I'll need it after losing 40lbs :-) )

I hope this has given you some ideas for rewards!!

Also, I have found a great way to remind me to track what I eat, again because I am on my computer all the time, I made MyFitnessPal.com my home page. So it's always the first thing I see!!!
