I've been getting colds for the better portion of my life. I live in the midwest, it gets cold here, people are germy, as a whole, and it just comes with the territory.
This year, for whatever reason, my cold has knocked me on my butt. I stayed home from work yesterday because of a COLD. I was wibbley-wobbley, so driving was out of the question, and wanted to do nothing but sleep (I'm actually hoping it is a cold, and not the dreaded flu).
My question is: As we get older, if we keep in better shape, does that really help us with keeping healthy from the flu and common cold? Would we be able to stand up to it better? I used to go to school when I felt like this, and nothing happened. But now I can't even go to work? I'm only 27. Should I be feeling this old? Ugh. Not enjoying this at all. :grumble:

I honestly don't know. Sometimes I can power through a cold and sometimes like the one I had last week I just lay down in bed and call the whole thing off. I hope you feel better soon!0

I live in Utah, and we have cold weather as well. It has been a really bad winter and everyone is getting sick! The cold I got was MISERABLE!!! I think it just depends on the virus and colder weather seems to make it worse. My dad is a complete health nut and takes tons of garlic supplements. He rarely gets sick. I just don't want to smell like garlic all the time.0
