I always get fajitas. they are usually served with refried beans, rice, lettuce, sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole, and cheese. I ask for no tortillas, beans or rice and ask them to double the lettuce and guacamole. Bonus points if they can give me lettuce leafs instead of shredded lettuce because then I can make wraps.

ETA - Of course, I skip the chips and salsa as well.

    It's VERY satisfying.

I second the fajita suggestion. Another good choice is stuffed pablano peppers (chiles rellanos).

I usually get chicken flautas and skip the rice/beans.

I love Mexican food, too, but it doesn't love me...

My local place has a really, really good grilled shrimp salad with greens, bell peppers, onions, shredded cheese, and avocado slices. My problem is bypassing the evil chips!
  • Thank you all ! I had chicken Fajitas, vegetables, black beans and a glas of merlot.
I had company this week and I did actually pretty well.
