Hello,
My name is Tammy I have just decided that I am going to do a Metabolism Reset (just saying that sounds scary).
Here is a little bit about me.
I have been happily married for 23 years to an amazing, supportive man we have 2 daughters 22 and 19 we are a pretty active family. Hiking, Biking, Running,
Currently I am 47 , 5ft and weigh 143lbs. BMR1332 TDEE 2065 Calories 1755
In 2007 I weighed 168 I started watching what I was eating and going to the gym with my husband (he has always worked out and been in great shape) I started loosing weight and getting in shape or so I thought.. I made it to 128lbs but was not happy with the way I looked. I carry a lot of my weight in my stomach. I started running and really enjoyed that I was still lifting weights but I was not heavy lifting. I started thinking that I needed to do more cardio so I started doing Zumba and running so I stopped going to the gym. I just didn't have enough time to do it all.. This whole time I was eating maybe 1200 calories a day. I could not loose any more weight then I started gaining and in the last 1 1/2 I gained almost 20lbs. Since January I am back in the gym with my husband 5 nights a week lifting weights and doing some cardio. I have really started concentrating on my weight lifting. I have lost 3lbs since I started and a few inches here and there.
When I started this I just wanted to loose weight so I thought cutting the calories even more would help I stared with 1200 counting everything I ate but I was always hungry. I would eat fill full then in 15 to 20 minutes I was feeling hungry again. I started getting on the message boards and reading and discovered that I was eating 1200 a day and working out burning 500 a day that didn't leave much for my body to survive on.
I have since decided that I don't just want to loose weight I want to be FIT, HEALTHY, and TONE.. I want a body that shows off my hard work in the gym.. I want to see the muscle that I know I have under this layer of fat covering it up...
Now where to start how do I go from eating so little to eating 2065 calories a day?? I am not a breakfast eater so I start off my morning off with a shake I use unsweetened almond milk, 3tbsp oatmeal, 1tbsp flax seed, protein powder, and some type of fruit the shake is usually around 250-300 calories.. I also have one of these shakes after I workout. Do you think this is okay to continue? I need help with snack and lighter meal ideas. I believe that I am going to have to plan out my meals and snacks for the week until I get use to eating again. How did you start and what did you eat? It said that I should eat 5 to 6 meals a day.. I work out after work by the time I get home change and get to the gym it is about 5:45 It is 7 or after when I get home I still have to eat dinner and it is getting late.
I am looking at this as a FITNESS JOURNEY.
Thanks for your help, I will need friends for support and advice.

I never have a problem eating too little calories (obviously or I wouldn't be 30 lbs overweight), but the approach for you would be the same as it is for me: If you have trouble meeting that goal immediately, then you would work on it gradually.
Metabolism reset is only scary when your idea of "skinny/fat" dictates how you feel about yourself. There's more to you than your body fat percentage and some number on a scale.
Focus on fit and healthy, and what happens on the way to that goal will be a lot less scary, and mostly exciting and amazing.
Weight lifting is good! Stick to that and focusing on eating healthy, and everything will be well.0 -
Oh welcome, you are on the right path. Check out some diaries ..em2wl diaries...for calorie dense protein. Lifting heavy will help burn off fat and HIIT sessions are great fat boasters too. Eat after your workout protein and carbs to replenish glycogen stores.0
