My knees just can't take it...

Hey ladies I think I might have to quit the shred. My knees are not only hurting but clicking like crazy during and after the workout. I've had bad knees since I was a child and this workout is not helping. I feel like a failure but what if I do some real damage to my knees?? I can't take that risk. I'm gonna be hitting the gym like crazy with low knee impact exercises. Good luck finishing the shred ladies.

I know exactly what you mean! I had to go to physical therapy when I was 12 years old because my knee caps would slide out a little bit due to flat feet. My knees have always been an issue for me with working out. I've always been extremely careful with lunges, but squats seem to be alright. The same thing happened with this video for me.
I would suggest NOT quitting. Do modifications! I omitted the lunges and just did more squats or leg lifts. I COMPLETELY understand the feeling of failure. I'm a "all or nothing" perfectionist type, and I almost quit because of this reason, too. The best advice I was given on this board about the video is to go at YOUR OWN pace. I think the video is still EXTREMELY helpfuly, even if you switch up a couple of exercises! Just because Jillian picked these, does not mean that they're the only ones effective! :]
Hope that helps!0 -
Yup, I've looked up what to do about knee pain during lunges, and I'm working on correcting it. I think it's worth working on for 30DS, but also for life. Not going to be able to complete it the way I planned, that's all.0
