Blisters on the bottom of my feet

With week 5 came blisters on the soles of my feet.

I have noticed I am sweating a lot more so I have brought new socks. The socks I have been using are mostly cotton and are getting thin.

Any other ideas?

Shoe shopping is VERY stressful for me so I am reluctant to put it down to the shoes. Especially since I brought properly fitted shoes a year ago.

Thorlos or Fox River socks have been recommended to me for running. I've been running in normal socks and have the odd blister, so I'm going to buy Thorlos, they look comfy.

I know even with good shoes, like Assics that they have about a yearly life because the gel or padding in them decompresses and no longer absorbs the shock properly so as much as you don't want to hear it's the shoes it very well may be.

Blisters to me suggest rubbing though... Changing socks is a good idea, I wear socks with elastic around the arch of my foot which I really like and they might prevent any friction going on for you. Maybe even buy some insoles or gel inserts to soften the impact when you hit the ground.

Make sure you're running in good form too. If you aren't then that could be causing you pain, especially as you're getting into those longer runs.

    I love Feetures socks: http://www.socksmax.com/Feetures_white_original_quarter_socks_p/fa20000.htm?1=1&CartID=0

They make all the difference to me.

Cotton socks are bad for running. Get some sort of sport socks. Especially ones that wick sweat.
