Balancing calories over the week

I'm trying to generally stick to around 1500 calories a day, but some days I go over, usually when I'm out for dinner with friends, or have some drinks... then on days when I go to the gym I'm quite often under by a bit. Does it matter if you're balancing calories out over the week rather than a day?
Eg. I might go to the gym on Monday night, and therefore be about 200 Cals under (net) but then on Tuesday go for dinner with friends, and be about the same amount over. As long as it balances over the week, does it matter if it doesn't balance on a daily basis?

Very generally speaking, no it doesn't matter. How it impacts Performance/preference should be considered.0
