I'm ready to start a program but don't which one to buy. Anyone know how JMBR stacks up against Beachbody's Turbo Fire? How long are the Revolution classes? Do you do it everyday? How many Rest days during the week? Just trying to get some info. Thank you.

Turbofire is a heavily cardio based workout, just like insanity, both of which i have. I chose to do body revolution instead because i felt it would be a better option for me personally as it incorporates strength as well as cardio, unlike Turbofire and insanity.
insanity was a challenging programme, i did 17 days of it before deciding to do BR instead. The workouts typically last about 40-45 minutes long if i remember right, a few a touch longer. I didn't particularly like the "feeling" of the programme but I've seen others achieve great results from it. To be honest all i felt like i was doing was jumping around and getting out of breath! My stamina did improve in the 17 days, and it was reflected in my fit tests. Shaun T makes good eye candy and its a relief to see even the guys on the DVD are finding it tough! Moves are fairly easy to follow, but the transitions are quick, it's called insanity for a reason! You *do* need to "dig deep". Very deep!! I may go back to it one day, I'm very much a "started so ill finish" kinda girl.
Turbofire is like insanity with its intensity. Its fast paced but has a more fun feeling to it, with its dancey music and lively instructor. I haven't done this as a main programme yet (i plan to do it next) but i have done a few of the workouts - which last anywhere between 20 mins and an hour. I enjoyed them, and found them very motivating, although its hard to keep up at first until you "learn" the short sequence. Did i mention its fast?!!! Those sirens make you go crazzzzy!!
all of the programmes "give" you 1 day per week rest. I think insanity and Turbofire compare well with body revolution's Cardio 3 workout in terms of intensity.
Turbofire (and insanity) is an all-out "go as fast and hard as you can for as long as you can" workout whereas Body Revolution contains a mixture of controlled resistance and crazy cardio.
Body revolution starts off at a slower pace and lower intensity, then builds up as you progress through the weeks, its still not easy though!! The workouts are also shorter, usually between 30-35 minutes long.
perhaps you could go to the main websites and preview the videos on there for an idea?
edit: just wanted to add.. Have you heard of TurboJam? I've heard that its similar to Turbofire but a little less hardcore! A great introduction to bigger and better things?!0 -
I"m debating the same. I've done TurboFire before and loved it, I was changing some of the scheduled sessions though because I lost my resistance band. I eventually quit because I was bored and life was crazy. Now that I've found the resistance band, was thinking of doing either Body REvolution or a hybrid with Insanity/Turbofire. I've just finished Shred and Phase 1 in Body Revolution seems similar to that.
Also Turbo Jam was mentioned and that is SUPER FUN. It is similar to Turbofire but alot easier, there aren't any fire drills and it's less impact for sure, easier to catch onto0 -
I started Turbo Fire a couple weeks after I finished JMBR. Since I built strength through JMBR, I wanted to up the cardio through TF. I love Chalene in TF - she's very motivating and perky but not annoyingly so. I sweat a lot through the TF workouts.
However, for me this program didn't fit my lifestyle. Many of the repeated workouts in TF are 45-55 minutes. Since I need to get my workouts done in the morning, JMBR's 30 minutes work better for me. Otherwise, I'd fine excuses to not workout after work!
Eating the same amount of calories, I didn't really lose with TF. I definitely built up my cardio stamina though! The TF workouts are definitely fun. I know several people that got results with TF. I think it really depends on your lifestyle and your workout style. I needed strength training more regularly to lose.0
