High Calorie Day vs TDEE every 4-6 weeks??

So, I was fiddling with the spreadsheet again, and noticed it recommends 1 high calorie day and 6 deficit days.
Should I be doing this, rather than eating at TDEE every 4-6 weeks for a week?

Which way did you cut?

I believe the spreadsheet you are referring to is the one Heybales mentions. I haven't ever seen it. We don't have a spreadsheet for EM2WL. We suggest eating TDEE - cut daily and taking a diet break every 4-6 wks.

Where on the spreadsheet does it get into that?

There is the deficit method for 5/2, and calorie cycling if lifting is focus is perhaps where you are looking.

That means no cardio or only walking, and lifting as it says. That calorie cycling method does indeed do a TDEE day exactly to keep hormones in check. And combined with a reasonable deficit to begin with, means you don't have to do a diet break.

Still would benefit from an exercise break likely, but you get diet break every 7 days, or 10 days if lower BF.

But must be lifting and little cardio as it says.

I thought I was referring to heybales spreadsheet, until I checked after seeing heybales' comment. Turns out, I download another and clicked on it instead. I am not sure where I got it from, which kinda worries me...
Either way, it sounds like 5:2 is not for me, because I do too much cardio.

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the answers!
