Happy Monday!

I'm tired today, defintiely hard to get out of bed! haha.

Today I've got 45ez on my schedule  It's so weird not doing HIIT workouts! I enjoyed how hard they made me work in those short spurts of interals, so I'll be happy to get back to them in a few weeks! I do love the fire workouts though.

I have a confession, i have YET to try stretch 40. Weird, right? I'm too much of a cardio addict. I haven't done it yet because it'd be like an extra rest day to me. LOL. Maybe during this all fire time I'll feel more like doing it though, it IS on the schedule once a week. We'll see.

POLL: Who thinks we should just have a chat thread without dates attached? Like a Chat thread in the group that'll just roll over when we fill it....? Or is it more attractive to new people to see a current date attached and smaller thread/ less to "catch up on"/ to not feel like you're jumping into someone's conversation?

    Hello all,
Today I am supposed to start Week 1, Day 1 with Fire 30 and Stretch 10 on my schedule. However, I've been working on mastering the moves in the Fire Starter video. Should I keep going til I have fire starter mastered or go ahead and start on the Turbo Fire schedule? Or would you start with the 5 day inferno plan?

I like the current weekly chat format. Less to catch up on like you said, and more relevant to see whats happening in the here and now/ who is about the same stage in the program as you currently, or who is doing something you have coming up, etc.

I also really like the weekly chat threads. I like having less to catch up on during the week :)

Each workout as a "New to Class" option, which breaks down the moves which makes it easier the first couple of times you do the workout. If you are just starting Turbo Fire, I wouldn't recommend starting with the inferno plan.

Edited to add: I like the weekly chat thread.

Hey everyone! Today is a rest day for me, but I may do a light workout later on today.

I also like the idea of the 'weekly chat' threads, the way it currently is. Makes it easier to keep up with posts and we can talk about our plans for that particular week. :)

Hi, new to TF and started 1st day today. This Wed. will end my TJ group that I had been doing for six weeks so, TF is going to kick me up a notch (I am sure). The moves are very similar so, I am glad that I started with TJ. It is a little tough to get used to the quickness but, I know I can do it. I have done Combat in the gym before and this is very similar. Just glad that I found this group. :)

Hi ladies, I did CLX push 3 and HIIT 15. I am having a hard time doing both it really kicks my rear. I hope that is a good thing. I put all my effort into lifting then have little left for the HIITs but i still sweat like crazy. :) I like the weekly threads.

@star will you be posting your progress pics?

@CN- you can do new to class or you can just give it a go. They really aren't that much different and I have done the 20 weeker and i still sometimes get mixed up with the moves. LOL, you do what you think works for you. Good luck and let us know what you do do. :) We will cheer you on.

@april- I think you are going to love TF and no matter what you have done it takes getting used to do anything when just starting out you will be fine. Enjoy it!!

    Keep pushing play ladies :)

@Vini- posted my one month pics a couple of days ago here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/911012-first-4-weeks-done-down-2lbs-and-2-1-2-inches-pics

Got my workout done, woohoo! Had a lot of fun too, I was really into it. Today was 45ez- love that one! Burned 435 calories. Now to couch potato for awhile before bed.

@vini - this is the encouragement I need so thank you! I agree. Will take getting used to and almost didn't start because I didn't think I could handle it. I changed my mind when I did a run through of the first video (just watching it first). I know the others are much more intense..but I think this is what I need. When I workout I don't burn high numbers. It's all good. Thanks, again!

@star - absolutely can see a difference...Wow excellent after only one month- great job!

I did fire 55ez yesterday, and while I have fire 30 + sculpt 30 on the schedule for today, I also injured my elbow carrying a really, really heavy duffel bag up three flights of stairs to my apartment over the weekend, so I don't know if sculpt will happen today. I'm at least going to do fire 30!
  • Hi all..... I am new to the group today and on day 8 day of TurboFire. Today is the 20 HIIT for me. I am scared but also excited. I have been dong TurboJam for a year and this is like TurboJam on crack I love it. There is nothing that I can't do but it is most def the next level. I have been wearing my HRM and I am averaging a 500-600 calorie burn with each workout.

I am excited that I found this group!

Just finished Low HIIT 20 and Stretch 10, I was so sore from Fire Starter yesterday, but made it somehow!! I think I'm going to be dead tomorrow. Not gonna take Weds as my rest day, I'd rather have Sat or Sun off

@monie, I felt the same way the first time I did sculpt 30! After a few weeks of it in the mix now I love it and have moved on to using my handweights instead of the cord. Felt kinda awkward to me, I prefer the dumbbells

@slroggeman- yeah I'd skip the sculpt 30 if your elbow's not ok. Just do extra cardio and don't go crazy with your punches!

@ candace- hello! I also did turbo jam for a long time and LOVE IT! I actually loved what an easy transition is was from TJ to TF, with the similar moves and all. LOVE!!

@cnlargent, nice work! Always tougher to make yourself workout when you're already sore!

I have no idea what's on my schedule today, I can't remember! I THINK it's another regular fire though. This 4th week is so cardio heavy, no HIITs! I kind of miss them. They're insane, but I kind of enjoyed the crazy high movement for a minute and then resting for a minute. Oh well, I'm just glad the fire and ez fire workouts are all just different enough to feel like a different workout each day, otherwise day after day of them would be tough mentally. Anyways, back to work.... Oooo, lunch soon!!

@starlage, I keep a copy of my Turbo Fire schedule at my desk so that I know what to look forward to when I get home.

Tonight is Fire 45EZ, I'll probably add a HIIT workout to it. This is supposed to be a "recovery" week, but I decided to make it an Inferno week, only not following the 1,200 calorie diet. This is my last week of the 12 week program, then on to advanced classes.

Just did my second workout..Fire45...love it! Burned 379 with the 10. Being still new, thought this was good. Sweat my butt off...always do when it's a Chalene workout...love it. Once I repeat the routines a couple times through, I will be great. TJ was awesome stepping stone to this.

Does anyone do a different rest day than Wed? Not sure if it makes a difference with the way the program is set up?

I won't be resting tomorrow. I will vary my rest day on Saturday or Sunday. I would much rather have a weekend day off and work my butt off on Wednesday.

I like having my rest day on a weekday and then exercising through the weekend to keep my TDEE up a little. I'm super active at work all week and then super sedentary on the weekends (except for exercise) and recently, was notified my schedule on Wednesday's starting the week of the 18th will be going until 5pm, which means I don't get home til 6pm so I'll be more than glad to keep that as my rest day

Well, I got my workout done! I had a ridiculously busy day at work and was physcially tired (my back... is, OW.) and I kinda didn't want to, but I got it done! Fire 30 and Tone 30 done. I started using my dumbbells with he strength workouts because I have ones that I can change the plates out and make heavier- so I figure why buy bands to accomodate my strength when I have dumbbells already? So that's what I do. Dumbbells instead of the bands during the workouts.

I took today as my rest day to give my elbow a break so I'm going to try to do fire 45 tomorrow as long it's feeling better then :)

Starlage what is your active job? I'm a teacher for adults with developmental disabilities, so I'm usually sitting or standing, but not really too active.

Turbo Fire Day 12 - Fire 55 EZ DONE! 431 cals burned

Don't let that "EZ" fool ya - Fire 55 EZ is long and tough! I have to admit, I almost quit halfway thru Fire 55 today. I just did NOT feel like working out this morning. My energy was low and it was so early in the morning, that I really dreaded working out. But I didn't quit and I finished all the way thru. So - go ME! :)

    Happy hump day!

cnlargent- I'm a medical assistant in a head and neck specialty clinic on a big hospital. The clinic's HUGE and I spend my day rooming patients, cleaning exam rooms, sterilizing endoscopes, calling patients, returning faxes, coordinating special exams, assisting with procedures. I'm up out of my chair about 75% of the week walking and moving around, so it gets my TDEE up into the upper 2000's most days (I wear a bodymedia fit).

    parnyparn- welcome!

peoticmoe- seriously, why are they called "ez" anyhow?! I don't get that. They're normal workouts! There are less HIIT drills, but other than that they're nonstop turbofire activity the whole time. Love them!

Today's a rest day for me! I've exercised 7 days in a row - definitely made up for my extra rest days the last couple of weeks! LOL. I've earned my rest day, and may even take another tomorrow, we'll see.

So far 55EZ is my favorite, but I've heard the advanced discs are even better, I can't wait to start them next week!

Also my new heart rate monitor is being delivered today. Yay! I realized my old one (had less than 2 months) was not giving me accurate readings, so I spurged on a Polar RS100.
