Hello all,

Just signed up for my first tri which is in three months. I'm just wondering if anyone has any piece of literature, workouts, advice, etc. that helped them when they first started!? I'm starting my workouts for jogging and biking today. Starting slow! Very excited thoughhh!

www.beginnertriathlete.com is a great resource. You should be able to dig around there for free workouts, gear advice and what other needs you may have. And of course, we are here to help.

Agreed, it's helped me out a lot. My first Tri is in April and I feel as if I'm almost ready for it at this point thanks to the workouts I've gotten from beginnertriathlete.

What distance? What is your fitness level now? What is your goal?

I am no expert but those are important questions with regard to how you approach your training.

Best of success to you. I did my first tri last week, an indoor super-sprint. Can't wait til summer so I can do some more challenging distances.

The distance is a tri-sprint. Off the top of my head it's somewhere around 500m swim, 15mi cycle, and 5k run. How much is a super sprint? Sounds fast! Ekk!

I swam competitively in HS, but that was 4 years ago, so pretty excited to start swimming again. The other two I am mediocre at. Probably 10 min/miles running, but I've been working out more now and hoping to cut that down.

I am definitely checking out that website, thanks so much.
