Finished with CLX up to the next program!

Last week I finally finished my last workout of the Lean phase. I must say that of the three phases, Lean is by far my least favourite one. Too much awkward balancing stuff in these exercises. Anyway, this was it for me, because I won't be doing another round of ChaLean Extreme. Instead I'm starting a beginners heavy lifting program.
After much reading I had narrowed it down to either Stronglifts 5x5 or All Pro's Simple Beginners Routine and last week I made the choice for All Pro's. Did my 10rm test and just finished my first week.
I was wondering: are there perhaps other people here that are (about) done with CLX and looking for a follow-up weight lifting program?
I would love to do this program together with other people. There is no group for this program yet on MFP and it would be fun to start such a support group for those doing (or planning to do) All Pro's Simple Beginners Routine.
Anyway, here's a link to where this routine is explained:

And to the FAQ:

The routine is written for barbells, but can be adjusted for dumbbels. That is what I personally am going to do, because I prefer working out at home.
Would love to hear your reactions!

Interesting program. I am only on week 2 of Lean and would like to do more lifting when I am done. I like dumbbells for two reason, one, I can do it at home. Two, my elbows hyperextend (I think) and I have pain when using barbells. I have gone to trainers who told me not to bother with barbells. (But I was so much less fit then... should probably see another trainer for a critique).
That being said... what weights do you have at home? I wonder how heavy to go with an at-home dumbbell program.
I'd love to see your progress/results with this! Good luck!0 -
Interesting. I will look into it. I technically finished Lean last week but I am doing an extra week of lean because I go on vacation next week and I didn't want to putz with what to do the week before I leave.
I will be back on the 18th. I'm not sure if that's too much of a delay for you. Gatx - what are you thinking about doing next? We seem to be following the same workout routines and timelines (JM Body Rev, Chalean).0 -
Ooh, I hadn't heard of All Pro's... I might be interested in that eventually. Right now I'm planning on one more round of CLX and then on to Stronglifts.
BUT... I like the idea of being able to modify with dumbbells at home. I'm going to look into this a bit further. My adjustable dumbbells only go up to 25 pounds, though. DAMN IT. Maybe that will be enough, I don't know. I feel like I could go heavier than that on squats right now.
If you start a group, please post a link. I'd like to join becuase this looks like something I'd be interested in for the future.0 -
I am trying to decide what to do next as well. I am right there with you about Lean being my least favorite phases. I have to have a DVD set to follow along with though. I have the 50lb adjustable dumbbells which I love but I can't do just a paper program. I wish I could since it would save me so much money but the only way I can work out effectively is with a follow along program. I have done 3 rounds of Supreme 90 Day and might go back to that since obviously I liked the program  but I would like to try something new and was eyeing JNL Fusion. I have system ADD :laugh:0

Regarding the weights: I currently have an adjustable dumbbell set that goes up to 15 kg (33 lbs) in 1 kg (2.2 lbs) increments per dumbbell. For the squats and deadlifts I'm already about to max out on the set. For all the upper body exercises they will probably get me through another 4 months. I intent to get another set as well (up to 30 kg) to be able to progress on the lower body stuff as well.0 -

No problem at all! I'm now only 1 week in and expect to be doing All Pro's for at least 15 weeks.0 -

I'm in the Lean Phase now and it's definitely my least favorite but the one phase where I see excellent results so I guess I just have to suck it up (this is my 2nd round of CLX).
My plan is to do Brazil Butt Lift next for 4 weeks then we go on vacation for a week. Was planning on attempting Insanity but I really LOVE lifting weights so I'm gonna check out the site you mentioned and get more info.
If you do start a group, please let me know, as I'd like to follow along and hopefully join in if it's something that's up my alley!!0 -
