I can see diet coke being linked to a lot of things. Or rather, the aspartame within the diet sodas.0

I rarely ever drink soda. If I do, I treat it as a food item, and only drink the real ones. Not the diet ones. Yuk.
But I do experience depression at times. Organic based I am sure.0
