I generally use this as an excuse to get something I don't normally buy, hopefully imported from Ireland. Maybe it's good, maybe it's not, I don't really care. Just an excuse. What are your favorite Irish beers? Guinness is always available, but I'm looking for something different, Irish or Irish style.

I hear Portorhouse brewing out of Dublin has got some of the best Irish stouts you'll find. Don't know where you can find any bottled though. It looks like they have a bar in New York though: http://www.porterhousebrewco.com/bars-newyork-fraunces.php

I've tried a few on this list, but my go to anytime I hit our local Irish Pub is Smithwick's (10th in the slideshow). I'm not a fan of Guinness or stouts, so I prefer the smooth flavor that it offers.
