This is one of those topics that a person can find various articles on and such. My answer? The time that you'll be able to stick with. Sure, it might be great to work out early morning, set the tone for the day, blah blah blah. Every time I've tried I've crashed and burned. My current life, schedule, etc...does not support morning workouts. So for me it's early evening because that's what fits into my schedule and when I'll actually stick to doing it!
Any time of day is better than no time of day!0 -
Preference first as mentioned.
Realistic ability to keep doing it important too.
Then some points come in that may make things better, if you really have the freedom.
For instance, if doing easy cardio (walking, slow jogging) on non-lifting days, then morning before you break your fast is great time to encourage fat burning. Need the easy level cardio only anyway - might as well take advantage of it and encourage fat burning by not using what you just ate for breakfast or snack.
For lifting, it's nice to get most of the day's calories in post workout, so body can really use them. But it's not good to go into that fasted and almost empty of glucose stores from overnight fast. So a small snack ahead of time fine.
But if breakfast and lunch can be kept light, allowing big dinner and bedtime snack, then after work lifting could be great, allows good repair during sleep.0 -
that is true:) i need to manage my time better. kind'a wishing I lived in the city right now. get more variety of fresh fruits an veggies. Where I live most of the food I consume comes from boxes, cans, or bags from the stores. Sometimes wild game.0
