Anyone have around 30lbs to lose?

Hey everyone. I have about 30lbs to lose and was wondering if this will "still" work for me. 2 years ago I lost 70lbs in about 7 months and then got sloppy and put 30lbs back on. Now I want to take them off again but I'm told that low carb won't work the 2nd time around!

Any advice or suggestions? I usually consume around 80-100g a day or less.

Thanks!

I don't think there's any basis for that. The science of how our bodies work doesn't really change. There's no reason low carb shouldn't work for you this time.

In my experience, a target of 80-100 g per day is still pretty high, and could result in very slow progress. At that level, you're still getting an insulin response in your body, and your body is going to really have to work to burn those carbs before they burn fat. If you aren't seeing the progress that you want, you might want to drop that down (I'm a keto fan myself, and we are more in the 20g per day range).

    Good Luck!

I have about 45 pounds to lose, and for me, I dropped first to 60 carbs, for a week or so, then 50, then 40. Now do 25-40, ideal of 37 for 10% of my calories. I think I could live life well as a low carber. I think that is the solution to not gaining it back. Friend me if y.ou like
  • I have lost 30 lbs since I started this whole thing. Actually, it may be more, I'm not sure. 30 lbs lost was the last time I weighed myself. And I only weigh about once a month at this point.

I am really curious about someone telling you that low carb won't work for you twice ... that is one of the odder things I have heard said about low carb dieting.

Basic biology is what it is. If you don't have enough glucose in your blood stream to power your body, then your body must find another source of energy. That source will be the body fat you have stored away.
