March 15th

*yawn* Thank God it's Friday! Here we are again, and I've just forced myself through L2 D4. Some parts I don't actually mind too much, but the ones I dislike I REALLY hate if that makes sense.

The worst parts for me are pendulum lunges, oblique twists and those squat thrusts! I do have to modify some things but I'm still pushing on and doing them all the same.

At least the next couple of days I get a few extra hours in bed before Jillian tortures me!

Keep going everyone, you're doing great!

AllergicToExe - You sure are committed to this 30 day shred challenge. You're like half way through. Such an inspiration. I've had to have a rest after completing level 1 as my knees began to hurt but I hope to pick it up again next week.

Those pendulum lunges kill me! I still can't do them at the same pace as the girls. I wobble way too much for that haha! The squat thrusts are still awful for me as well, and the other thing I really hate are those rows you do in a squat (first strength circuit). I'm thinking I could manage them better if I used lighter weights, but that feels like wimping out since I'm only using 5 lbs during the entire workout to begin with. Today was Day 6 for me and I can't wait to get through the next 4 days and move on, although I dread what Level 3 has in store for us...

Agree totally! The pendulum lunges are the worst...partially cause I tweaked a hip flexor, and they made it worse. But lunges have always been hard! I use a step stool, about 8" high and step forward onto it. It helps!

btay, I hear you! For me it's the squat and v-lift raise (or whatever she calls it). 5 lbs is a tad to much, but I don't want to lower he weight! :)

Oh jeez I forgot about those v-lift raises at the end (mentally blocking out the trauma I guess  ). I really struggle with those too. My fat arms just can't go up that high toward the end!

The squat and v-lifts kill me as well as the squat thrusts. I can do about 9 before switching to the modified version. I do like the oblique twists and the skaters moves in cardio though. I don't even mind the plank jacks. So far my tennis elbow is holding up but my knees DO HURT. I am determined to finish. I will have Day 5 of L2 tonight after work.
    Keep going strong everyone!

Just did day 1 of level 2 last night, and the only thing I hated was how much it hurt my knee. I don't think there's anything wrong with it (probably) but it just hurts every time I work out, now. That work out was so flippin hard, though! Monday through Friday I do it in the evening, after work, but Saturday and Sunday I do it first thing in the morning. I am not looking forward to tomorrow morning, man.

Yeah, what the heck is with the V-lifts? I can't lift my arms backwards like that. Maybe going down in weight will help? I did 5 pound weights last night.

Thank goodness tomorrow is Saturday which is my rest day... just finished L2D1 and think it about killed me, even the shower afterwards was hard haha. How could she possibly make L3 even harder? Even though Jillian is apparently out to kill us we will show her!!!

Did 10 real push-ups today (first set of push-ups)! Didn't go real low, but they felt pretty good. Could only do two on the second set. Modifieds weren't too bad after being fatigued from the real thing. Lunges much better today. I love the last round of cardio, where you do all 4 exercises. I feel super strong at that point.

Wow I would never do them with 5lb weights either! I use 1.5kg weights which I guess is 3. something pounds an that's enough for me at the moment.

Rest day for me today. My 16month old decided she didn't need a nap so no workout during the day. And in the evening I had to rush to the city.

But I did carry my daughter (who weighs over 10kg) for 1 hour today. She hates the stroller. I can feel it in my arms and in my back, and my chest.. every single muscle hurts.

After a couple of days off Jillian to play tennis, I went back to Level 1 today. Could do everything, but the last 30 seconds of real pushups :) So I'm going to Level 2 tomorrow, but I'm going to come back to Level 1 until I can do those last 30 seconds of pushups after those crazy shoulder raises/squats. That might take a long while, but I'm going to do it. The post-workout burn is fab. This group has inspired me to keep at it :)

I'm going to miss those side lunges....

And I probably won't be back to the shred until monday.

    I'm joining y'all a little late. I started March 9th so just completed Level 1 Day 7.
I took pictures today, still need to do measurements. Has anyone seen my tape measurer?
